1) The town of Ballard is awesome! 2) Location of the townhouse is great; walking distance to Market St, all the local shops, eateries, pubs, and the D line bus express to downtown Seattle. 3) College/teenage children loved the night time action on Market St. 4) Townhouse accommodated our group of 6 adults and 2 teens comfortably.
The Not so Good:
1) The outlets in the upstairs bathroom did not work. (We did not inform the owner of this during our stay, we're not complainers and improvised). 2) The upstairs bed was a little hard according to my wife, but I didn't seem to notice.
We would stay here again! Privacy, comfortable and the location outside of Seattle is just far enough, but having access to the D line express to ride into Seattle at walking distance was a major plus. Great place!"

"From the moment we arrived and were greeted by Andrew and Sharon I knew I had made the right choice in a place to stay while in Seattle. Their pride in the fabulous home they have created was evident and well justified.Without a doubt one of the cleanest and best equipped VRBO rentals I have experienced.
My family could not have been more comfortable and relaxed. The board games kept the grandchildren actively involved with the adults, the bedrooms were exactly what the 8 of us wanted and the master suite was terrific.
We walked to many nearby restaurants and coffee shops each day. Driving from this location made it easy for us to visit all of Seattle's famous attractions.
In short, we hope to rent this home again as we travel to Seattle for family gatherings."

"Oh, where do we begin? So many awesome reasons we give this review a 5 star rating.
We, a family of five (3 adults and 2 teens), thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Joy's houseboat. We were scheduled to stay only two nights but ended up staying another night because the weather was amazing. The houseboat was cozy but not crowded. It offers ample space to sit quietly alone to enjoy a good book or in a group setting, on top to absorb the sites of Seattle. The hot tub was a huge hit with the kids. They can hardly wait to come back this summer to partake in the slide that will whisk them into the lake.
And then there's Joy, our captain. Her parents named her just perfectly! She really made the trip. From the moment we contacted her, she made us feel like we had been friends forever. She wears many hats, so be sure to ask her all about them. She is giggly and tons of fun. We think "hospitable" should be her middle name. She wanted nothing more than to make our experience in Seattle one to remember. She succeeded!
One of the extra special details on the boat is Joy's lovely kitty, Bunny. She makes the boat feel like home.
Thank you, Captain Joy for making our stay incredible!"

"We LOVED the house! We enjoyed several wonderful family gatherings at the extra large dining room that overlooked Puget Sound. We only had 4 people staying at the house but I had my cousin's family over for dinner and had plenty of room for 9. The layout was perfect for us. Our mother took the upstairs bedroom so we had her separated from the rest of the noisy family downstairs. The kitchen was well stocked with plenty of pots, pan and dishes to accommodate a large group and even had a good supply of staple items (such as cooking spray, spices) to get you started. The property managers were very helpful and flexible as we had to make changes to our reservation due to a family emergency. I had concerns about the stairs going into the house; Mary was kind enough to e-mail photos so I could forward them to my mother and let her make the decision. If you have someone in your party with limited mobility you should know there are several stairs to take down to get into the house, but my age 80-ish parent found them manageable, and in her words, “the view was worth it!” Again, on the mobility issue, someone with limited mobility may have difficulty with the downstairs shower which must be stepped down into about 2 feet. But, if you have no physical limitations you’ll love it. The location could not be beat. Magnolia is such a quaint part of town and from there you can drive to the Space Needle and downtown to Pike’s Market in about 10 minutes. We took several walks down to the beach and to the nearby marina where you can splurge on a fabulous dinner at The Palisades Restaurant or eat casual lunch outside Maggie’s café. I highly recommend this property!"
