A fabulous find!
"We stayed at Sweet Orange while visiting our son who lives nearby. I can't imagine a better choice, and we will surely return every time we go back to Seattle. The house is immaculate and extremely comfortable inside, and surrounded by wonderful plantings. It features a riot of color which somehow manages to be both interesting and restful. We have mobility issues and it was perfect for us, being all on one floor and with only a couple of steps at the entrance. A special bonus was the lovely shaded deck overlooking the garden. The house is on a quiet street but close to stores and restaurants. We were there during a heat wave (rare for Seattle), but the house stayed cool enough for comfortable sleep, thanks to the surrounding trees. We had a minor mixup in scheduling, but Cassie went out of her way to make everything work for us. I can't imagine a more perfect place to stay!"

"My wife and our two small children, 3 years and 3 months, had an outstanding stay. The unit is clean, updated, and actually quite spacious. The living room is separate from the TV/media room but we didn't turn the TV on once in 4 days as the view from the living room and patio is better than anything on the tele. It is definitely right on the water and the beach was a great place for all to explore at low tide, and the waves are soothing at high tide. Mt. Rainier and Olympics were clearly visible every day. The condo is very quiet and there are lots of restaurants/coffee/gelato within easy walking distance. We didn't get around to renting paddle boards or kayaks but we will next time as the access is unbeatable, and Alki Beach Ave is great for running or walking. This will be our go to condo for every trip to Seattle in the future!"

"I am volunteering this review because VRBO hasn't invited me (as they did with other properties I've rented) and I really want to rave about this condo. My wife and I spent four nights here. We had never been to Seattle, but staying out on the beach seemed more appealing than being downtown, especially with the condo looking so alluring in the photos. We were not disappointed! The condo exudes quality throughout, and the views -- you can't get anymore beachfront than this -- are endlessly fascinating. When we finally took a water taxi over to downtown Seattle it was glaringly apparent that staying in the Alki Beach condo was infinitely preferable. The cacophony arising from the major construction project along the waterfront -- they're rerouting a major highway underground, which is years away from completion (think Boston's "Big Dig") -- combined with massive crowds of tourists around the market, was almost unbearable. We shuddered, and shuddered, at the thought that we might have rented a property smack dab in the middle of all this. It was supremely peaceful out on Alki, ample decent restaurants are in easy walking distance, and Metropolitan (everyone should have a supermarket like this) and Safeway markets are a short drive away. Taking the water taxi is fairly convenient, and fun, when you want to go to the city. I recommend taking the water taxi back from the city to the stop by Salty's excellent seafood restaurant, then walking off your dinner with a pleasant three-mile hike back to the condo. Finally, we want to express our warmest appreciation to Janice for being such a thoughtful and caring owner. With probably more than 50, generally very nice, vacation rentals over the last three decades under our belts, we would enthusiastically rank this property in the top 5 -- where all are essentially tied for #1."
