  • Feels like a home

"My family (myself, wife, and our 2yr old) and I are wrapping up a 3 month stay at the Urban Oasis and we could not be more pleased with our experience. We recently moved back to the Seattle area and needed a temporary place to stay until our new apartment became available. We are so happy to have found this place. The location is perfect. Just a short drive (maybe 5mins; or $10-15 cab ride) to downtown Seattle but also close to other area attractions like Alki Beach (a must in the spring and summer) and hip California Ave in West Seattle with plenty of great restaurants, bars, markets, and shopping. Or, take a quick ferry ride to Vashon Island for a little more nature. The airport is also an easy 15 min ride away and avoids all the downtown traffic. The apartment is tastefully decorated and has felt like a true home during our stay. The garden surrounding the beautifully restored craftsmen is in full bloom and is quite a site (kudos Jim). The neighborhood offers quiet streets for walking with some stunning views of the Seattle skyline. The owners, Jim and Ellen, are wonderful hosts (and people) and make themselves readily available for anything you may need. Bottom line, the apartment is spacious, comfortable, clean, and in a great location. We would (and will) recommend the Urban Oasis to anyone coming to stay Seattle. We would also recommend it to any locals needing some temporary digs. Thank you Jim and Ellen!"

  • Wonderful rental for holiday reunion

"This large and comfortable house was perfect for an extended family of 7 adults including a 90 year old lady, and a toddler! While forewarned the house was not set up to be baby-proof, it was relatively easy to make it tolerably so. A safety gate and crib were specially provided. A room on the main entrance floor with its own bathroom was perfect for great-grandma. (This bathroom also had the jacuzzi, but great-grandma kindly let others use it as well). Kitchen was very well-equipped and table sat 10 so brother and fiance could join us for dinners. Nice grocery store within walking distance. We mostly played board games and did jigsaw puzzles (some we brought, some were there), but there is an entertainment center with Roku in the downstairs family room. We spread all our Christmas stockings on the coffee table in front of the cozy gas fireplace and Santa did arrive! Given it was December the patio and lounge chairs didn't get too much use, but we hope to visit again in the summer-- the view is great! We were very pleased to be allowed to have our little poodle with us (extra charge but reasonable). We met owner only briefly but all our dealings with her were pleasant."

  • Truly A Home Away From Home!

"While visiting my son and grandson in October, 2014, I had the privilege of staying at the SoundView Cottage. I searched the VRBO website and was very impressed by the pictures of it and the amenities that were offered. Contacting the owner by email was efficient and Annie, the owner, was very forthcoming with all the necessary information. When I arrived I noticed the SoundView Cottage looked just like the pictures on the website. It was private, clean and had all the comforts of home. The kitchen was impressive with lots of kitchen gadgets, dishes, cookware, towels, dish soap and fresh breakfast foods in the refrigerator. My 12 year old grandson loved the kitchen so much, he made french toast for our breakfast!! There was even a washer and dryer with detergent! I enjoyed standing on the private deck and looking out onto Puget Sound. Also there was a hot tub on the deck for my enjoyment. Annie is close by to answer any questions and to replenish any items you may need. SoundView Cottage is truly a "home away from Home." I'm looking forward to staying there again the next time I am visiting Washington."

  • Great Alki Townhouse for vacationing

"The townhouse was exactly as listed. It is a nice clean cozy place and about a block from the beach with many places to eat and drink. The food was great at the restaurants. During our stay the weather was great 80-85 degrees and clear blue skies. The hot tub was great for evening relaxing. The townhouse had every thing we needed for comfort. The owner was very helpful and available when ever we had a question. I look forward to the next stay there."
