  • Wonderful stay

"This carriage house was everything advertised and then some. It was very comfortable and in a quiet neighborhood. We had all we needed and would recommend this great place to anyone else. It did have stairs and a tiny refrigerator but the pluses outweigh them. I would love to go back!"

  • Visit to Family Addition

"Six of us stayed at this very clean house. The owner takes his "no shoes" instruction seriously--signs were everywhere. Unfortunately, the locked entry to the house is via the back door, with inside steps immediately leading to the kitchen--obviously a difficult setup for removing shoes. The mattresses were very comfortable. The bathrooms were very clean. The owner said that parking in front of the house would be available for two cars. This was rarely the case, requiring parking off the back alley (and extra distance to get inside the house). The house has sleeping for eight, yet the living room did not comfortably seat eight; rearranging things could provide room for an additional couch. The only t.v. was in the lower level and did not have reception for many sports broadcasts. The internet router should be relocated to the main level. The lower level "kitchenette" was essentially a waste of space, since it was lacking a stove and dishwasher and cooking and eating supplies. The peninsula there was likewise a waste of space. Without it there would have been more seating room for the t.v. watchers. Three different couples prepared dinner at the house, and everyone said that the knives should be sharpened or a knife sharpener added to the kitchen supplies. The house location was quite convenient, and that outweighs these minor gripes."

  • Great location

"Our stay was wonderful. Great location for our visit with nearby family. Our hosts checked to make sure we arrived safely and were available if we needed them. Our only suggestion is to get new linens for the smaller bed. Very comfortable over all. We'll stay there again."

  • Just about perfect

"My husband and I rented this house for a long-planned Thanksgiving with our extended Seattle family. We needed a place that was reasonably accessible so our 95-year-old family matriarch would be able to use her wheelchair when she came to visit. Unlike many houses in Seattle, this house allowed us to wheel her in with no stairs and no problem. The house delighted us with its warmth, color, and well thought out furnishings. Our Thanksgiving guests, many of whom are artists and musicians, all commented on the loveliness and tranquility of the rooms and the artwork throughout. We enjoyed the gas fireplace on those gray drizzly afternoons, and loved the coziness and friendly vibe of the family room / kitchen area. The pictures really do not do it justice. Each room is spacious and flows smoothly into the next. The beds were comfortable, and I was impressed by the thread count in the sheets in the master bedroom. Not what one usually finds in a rental! Since we had to do a lot of cooking, I was concerned about the kitchen amenities. No worries! The kitchen was fully equipped - another pleasant surprise. Although we were there during a rainy spell, when the sun peeked out we got to enjoy the beautiful view of Green Lake and the Cascades right from the back deck. The neighborhood is charming and loaded with great restaurants within walking distance, and its a reasonably short drive to downtown and the airport. We highly recommend The Stumbling Goat, Phinney Market and Pub, Ken's Market, and the amazing little burger joint right up the street. Our daughter braved the Seattle rain and took a run around Green Lake - on her return she showed us pictures she took of the beautiful trail and even some chickens that greeted her from a neighbor's front yard! Matt and Lynne were super friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure sharing their home. We returned to the East Coast with many wonderful memories. We are looking forward to a return visit! Thank you again!"
