"My husband and I recently stayed here for our anniversary get away from the kids. We weren't looking for much, just a place where we could spend some time together without day to day interruptions. There was no wifi, cell service, or even a land line, so we were definitely on our own, although it would have been nice to be able to know they could contact us in an emergency. The house was very clean and nice, but really more utilitarian than cozy, better suited to summer trips where most of the time is spent outdoors. The "couch" is just a wicker patio love seat, not really a place I wanted to lounge about all day while the weather outside was dreary, and the gas fireplace was small and we still needed to have the heat on as it wasn't sufficient to heat the home. Even a few throw rugs would have warmed the place up a bit, rather than the cold tile floors. But I can see how the tile floors are a benefit in warmer weather when dirt is probably getting tracked in from outdoor adventures. The bed was comfortable and inviting, the view was incredible, all of the linens, dishes, utensils, etc were provided, coffee maker, tea kettle, even a dishwasher for easy clean up. I wished there was a salt and pepper there, as I didn't think to pack them, but that was my own oversight and not their fault. The weather cleared the day we left, and we were able to spend our last bit of time down on the dock. The stairs are steep, but so are most of the lake houses I've ever been to in the area. You could see they had actually replaced the stairs that went straight down with a more gradual decline that switched back across the hill instead. I would love to visit this home in the summertime with my children along."
