  • Comfort, Cleanliness & Perfect Downtown Location

"Just enjoyed 3 nights in this very comfortable nicely appointed 1 bedroom cottage, located a block from the ferry and downtown Friday Harbor. For those of you who will be a "walk on" on the ferry and not have a car, it's a perfect location. Right below the cottage is a bakery (although unfortunately it was closed for the winter) and immediately adjacent is a restaurant called the Coho (rated quite high on TripAdvisor/Yelp). The San Juan Island Cheese Company, serving artisan cheeses, wines and breads) is directly across the street (we had some fabulous smoked gouda there), and King's Market is a block away. The cottage was very clean and management has provided everything you'd ever need to live comfortably, including complimentary roasted coffee (not in those little packets you get in hotels which make brown water--not coffee) with more than enough for our 3 day stay, purified water in the refrigerator, dishes, pots, pans, barbeque equipment, washer dryer and soaps, dish racks, wine bottle openers, you name it they have it for you. There was an abundance of plush towels, bedding was clean and warm and plenty of extra pillows. Games, books and cards are on hand and comfortable enough seating. The only caveat to all of these positive remarks is that we could hear road noise in the morning. as the street is a main street to drive down to the ferry line. While winter is fairly quiet, town does bustle in the summer time and it may be much noisier during tourist season which may or may not be a problem for others. Overall, this little cottage is priced really well and we do not hesitate to recommend it to others."

  • Great stay over long weekend.

"Our favorite couple and ourselves spent a wonderful long weekend at this property earlier this month. We had a GREAT time ! The house is beautiful, secluded, quiet and extremely comfortable. I'm lucky enough to be friends with the owner, so that personal connection was very helpful. Yet, even without that connection, the guide book on the dining room table explains all the features, as well as the dos and donts. Kitchen is well appointed and the photos, while accurate, don't do the place justice ! Highly recommend this property and this location. Thanks very much, Sue and Jim"

  • Fantastic place to stay with a group

"I've been staying at the Contemporary Snowline Chalet for the past 4 years and love it! The hot tub is always ready for us when we arrive, the kitchen is fully equipped for our large group meals, and the Mt. Baker Ski Area is a fix 25 minute drive up the road. The house is spacious in both the living room and bedrooms. One gotcha - the stove is an induction stove. Most cookware doesn't work with it unless it's cast-iron or an inductive steel (stainless steel does not work). It's also a bit tough to figure out the stove, but the most trouble we had was it not working due to using non-inductive cookware. It's overall a beautiful house and I can't wait to visit again next year!"

  • Lazy sunsets across the bay...

"We wanted a quiet, peaceful getaway and this ON-the-bay cottage delivered! As each day faded, we kicked our shoes off, opened up a bottle of wine and watched the gentle bay slowly change hues as the sun sank beyond the horizon. After a day exploring the island's many nearby natural attractions -- Spencer Spit, Iceberg Point, Watmough Bay -- we would return "home," sink into the comfortable furnishings and extend a toast to our good fortune in finding this one-of-a-kind property. A short walk away, we enjoyed the Love Dog Cafe, shopped at the Lopez Market and purchased delectable, drinkable souvenirs from the Lopez Island Vineyard. All in all, the Bay Inlet Beach Cottage is the perfect week-long escape for the weary traveler. We hope to make the trek from Iowa to this island gem again and again."
