  • An Ideal Place to Retreat

"The treehouse is inviting, cozy, and well-equipped. My husband and I came with no agenda, no kids, and no responsibilities! A perfect get-away. Our weekend commenced with an unforgettable dinner at The Willows Inn - on Lummi Island (reservations required 2 weeks in advance). We returned to the island the next day to do the artist studio tour - an event that happens 2-3 weekends per year - and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the local residents. We also ventured out to the Silver Reef Casino for dinner at The Steak House - another excellent meal. And despite the cooler fall weather - the sun was out and we enjoying taking a walk at the Otto Preserve on Lummi Island. We always looked forward to returning back to the treehouse, winding down with a bottle of wine by the fireplace and stepping into the steam shower. What a treat! The kitchen feels like home - everything full size - and we enjoyed preparing a meal or two there as well. All in all - it was a great stay - at a good price. We look forward to coming again!"

  • Lovely Stay :)

"The house is much bigger in person then it looks in pictures. The master upstairs has an awesome attached bathroom with a nice big oversized tub. It’s in a quiet neighborhood, easy to find. When we stayed there, the stovetop worked, but the oven did not, which was kinda a bummer. The owners had let me know a couple days before we got there that we wouldn’t be able to use it. But it didn’t turn out to be too big of an issue. I am VERY happy to say we only ate out ONE time during our 5 day vacation in Bellingham – the rest of our meals were homemade. We used the stove top and microwave quite a bit. =) The basement stayed nice and cool – upstairs got a little stuffy. We tried to use the air conditioning, but it didn’t feel like it was working. Luckily we came at a beautiful time of year where mostly all we needed to do was keep windows open to catch a breeze. Everything was spotless in the house and we enjoyed having the extra space very much. Whatcom Falls Park is about 5 minutes away – it is a beautiful, FREE, easy hike. We have family in Bellingham who showed us where you could jump off cliffs into the water there. =) I’d definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Bellingham. Especially because ONE hotel room isn’t much cheaper! Spend a little extra and get some more space to feel like home."

  • Perfect little Getaway

"The Chuckanut Hideaway was Fantastic! The instructions Howard sent out were very helpful and thorough. The Hideaway was immaculate, and the view is spectacular. Lots to do in nearby Bellingham and on Chuckanut Drive itself. Highly recommended for couples. Thanks Howard, we;ll be back!"

  • Family Holiday

"We enjoyed a family holiday for 4 days at this incredible property and everyone from 12 to 70 something loved it. Plenty of space to accommodate 6 people, the kitchen provided everything you could ask for and more, gourmet meals could be cooked here! The views were gorgeous, the beach was close by for long walks. The property manager was friendly and was helpful and available. We were kept warm by the fireplace as well as central heating and plenty of wood was provided. Close by we visited Lummi Island, the ferry is just down the road, Fairhaven and Bellingham where shops and restaurants abound but we were always anxious to get back to "our house" to enjoy and relax. Already planning a return trip!"
