"We had a lovely time at the cabin. It was our first time and we loved that it was so close to shopping and restaurants. We only stayed for a few days but would enjoy a time in early summer when we could swim off the beautiful dock. Everything was in excellent condition when we arrived. Beds comfortable. Great to have bbq under covered area and a bonus to have the hot tub. Would be a great vacation spot for a girls shopping excursion or a family with children since there are three sleeping areas. Thank you to our hosts Jane and Art."Guest: Sandra Date of Stay: September 2014 Review Submitted: October 14, 2014View listing

Bellingham Vacation Rentals Are Where Visitors Find What Comes Next
The city of Bellingham sits in Whatcom County, in the state of Washington. It is on the Bellingham Bay and surrounded by the Chuckanut Mountains, Mount Baker and Lake Whatcom. The bay is sheltered by various islands including Portage Island and Lummi Island as well as the Lummi Peninsula. Bellingham lodging is serviced by Bellingham international airport and artery roads such as Interstate 5 which leads through the city. With its mild climate, Bellingham benefits from beautiful springs and falls with a pleasant dry summer.
Bellingham Cabins in a World-Record Snow Fall Area
The region of Bellingham vacation rentals is a popular ski area during the winter months. In fact, the Mount Baker Ski Area holds the world record for snow fall at over 1,140 inches. There are perfect conditions for downhill and cross country skiing.
The area is often called "Trail Town, USA" for the massive number of hiking trails around the region. Some of the best trails include the Bay to Baker which starts with a beach walk and heads through parkland. Civic Field Park Trail is a 1.2-mile easy loop through woods and the Frank Geri Fields and back through the woods to connect to Salmon Park Trail. Hikers who enjoy fishing may like the Bug Lake Trail where hikers often stop to enjoy fishing on the route. Whatcom Falls and Whatcom Creek Trails are a variety of gravel trails that include some steep areas and stairs. The facilities at Whatcom Falls include picnic areas, playgrounds, BBQ areas, restrooms and a fish hatchery. Nearby, Whatcom Creek Gorge has stunning waterfall views and a charming stone bridge. Many of the trails here also welcome biking and horseback riding.
Watch the Orcas from the Beach
Bellingham cabins are popular choices for those who are looking for water sport activities. Visitors can choose to spend a day on the beach at the bay or by one of the lakes. At Samish Park, visitors will find a park of almost 40 acres nestled between the lake and Chuckanut Mountains. Here, there is an enclosed swimming area, boating area, fishing and hiking as well as a play area for children. Silver Lake Park is just a short drive from Bellingham and a great area at any time of year. At over 180 acres, the lake is ideal for a quiet day of fishing, either from the shore or by boat. There is also canoeing and kayaking or even pedal boats. Among the beach areas is Birch Bay Beach and Tideland which is a nice place for fishing, shell fishing, boating and beachcombing. Lighthouse Marine Park is a unique area, accessible only by water or from Canada. For centuries, the Native Straits Salish people have harvested sockeye salmon and the park is now one of the best places to spot the Orca whales. During the summer, visitors are regularly able to watch as pods of these impressive mammals make their way past. There is no sea-based whale watching tours, ensuring the whales are left in peace but they come so close to land that visitors will find them easy to watch. Learn more about these incredible creatures at the Orca Center on the boardwalk.
