"Our family of 4 stayed in the one bedroom unit. It was very clean, and the location couldn't be better. The only suggestion I would have would be to add some amenities in the kitchen. We cooked quite a bit, and the dish options were pretty slim. And there was nothing available (I think the pepper was even empty). It would be awesome if there were some basic items available, so you don't have to buy each and every thing. Overall great place!!"

"What a beautiful place to celebrate my 57th birthday. We sold our house on Orcas about 17 years ago, so I knew that this house was in a perfect location: close to Eastsound (the town), close to the ferry, close to the golf course, and close to West Sound. The house is as pictured, but lives even better; quality construction and smart design. The layout of the house is wonderful for two couples. They had their end of the house, with a bath and bedroom. We had our end of the house (closes off with a big sliding door) with large bedroom, separate master closet, laundry, and bathroom. The master bath has two sinks and a separate toilet/shower area.
The kitchen and main living area are connected. The view out the bank of sliding doors that run the length of the living room is spectacular. You can see Eastsound across the bay. The house stayed cool as it faces northeast and it wasn't a terribly hot week; and we opened many windows and the sliding doors to let the fresh air in.
The patio is private and quiet. You can hear the water below. The kitchen is set up for cooks; but we ate dinner out while we were on island. West Sound Cafe provided a beautiful setting and wonderful food. The same for Inn at Ship Bay. Rose's was perfect for lunch. A run to Island Market after unpacking allowed us to stock up on things we couldn't bring in the car.
There is WiFi (slow compared to off island, but worked well) and there was a TV in the living room and 2nd bedroom. The set of Mexican Train dominos in the game drawer led to a fun game night.
Our friends have already recommended Casa Verde to their friends. I just hope that they don't rent the house in mid-July, as we would like to return again. Thank you to the owner for sharing this wonderful house."

"This Hat Island house is the most amazing vacation house I've enjoyed. Our family met for a mini-reunion (7 adults and 3 teenage kids) and were amazed by the house and it's integration into the beautiful environment. Walking into the glass-enclosed living area is magical, surrounded by the sea with the water right outside and reflecting in the windows. Magnificent large deck enclosed with a great wide "bench" for sitting, sunbathing or perching wine glasses and hors d'oeuvres, nice water toys (kayaks, SUPs, etc), blackberries outside ready for picking, wonderful bedrooms with sea views, and a kitchen designed for team cooking and entertaining. Sound system (built in speakers inside and out on the deck) with wide-ranging music collection. Many small thoughtful details throughout the property, helpful and personable owners. We loved it!"

Make memories -- and friends! -- at Hoehn Bend Farm
"Hoehn Bend Farm is the perfect home away from home: cooking, reading, playing, all seem more exotic when done elsewhere! The farmhouse had every detail covered from electrical outlet covers for finger-poking babies, to fresh eggs and jam in the fridge, to sunny flowers on the dining table. It was a joy to relax indoors after a morning of watching my toddler gleefully adventure with the child-sized wheelbarrow. He gathered eggs, fed animals, and held (chased) chickens. My favorite moment in the farmhouse was watching the chickens wander free-range through the window.
Terry and Jean were the best hosts: friendly, engaging, and so generous about sharing their time and wisdom. We enjoyed interesting conversation during our hayride (and several clusters of arbor grapes!) and, nearly a month later, my kiddo still wakes up in the morning to ask about Fahmah Tay-wee, Buffy the Chicken, Polly the Chicken, and Ivy the Mama Goat.
We are certain we will return again and believe a future farmboy may be developing with the kiddo's newfound interest in animals, tractors, and farmers!"
