  • Beautiful area and beautiful home

"2 Couples in our 50's and 60's stayed here. This home is one of he highest elevations in the area for living. Beautiful sunsets, stars, and view of he water below. Very quiet, and with 2 decks, where the back deck/patio has a weber bbq. The kitchen is full of utensils, pans, silver ware, and has a dish washer, microwave, and stove/oven. The front room has a fireplace and a wood stove, and there is wood and kindling covered in the patio area. There a 3 beautiful rooms, and 2 bathrooms with showers, with one bathroom having a jackuzi. There are roads and trails just off of the property that are wonderful for walking and even biking. The location provides easy access to many activities on the island. There are kayak and bike shops, restaurants, and stores/shops to look at and buy things if interested. The owner was very accommodating when we asked if we could just stay 2 nights. He was also very helpful with sending us information about things to do in the area. There is nothing to clean up afterwards except for putting dishes, pans, silverware away clean. There were extra pillows and blankets, and even slippers as it is asked that shoes be taken off in the house. Therefore the entire house is very clean, and has many windows letting in lots of light. There is accessible music in each room, televisions, games to play, and wi fi. And finally, the ferry ride is a comfortable just under one hour ride from Anacortes, which is 1 1/2 hours north of Seattle. Dan/Janice, Chris/Julie"

  • Great House

"Two families with two very young children stayed the weekend in this great house. Harvey was a wonderful host, reaching out to me before our arrival to make sure we knew how to get to the house, how to take the ferry, etc. He even notified us of some island events taking place during our stay, and recommended we attend. He also noted our two small children, and provided extra instructions on sleeping options for the young ones (and plenty of toys!). The house was very clean, very modern, very warm and very cozy. The kitchen is spacious and very well-stocked. The house is in a great spot on Lopez - just far enough away from the Village to be both quiet and convenient. A short drive to some cool hikes and views on the island. The Milky Way from the deck was gorgeous. Highly recommended."

  • Artists haven heaven!

"7 fellow artists and I chose Rose Mountain Lodge when our usual Friday Harbor favorite of 17 years was booked and loved it so much, we've already reserved our slot for next year! The house is so spacious, and comfortable, we looked forward to our evenings at home after painting all day, cozying up with a wood fire in the beautiful fireplace, and watching the deer in the front yard with our morning coffee. Bonnie & Ken have done a wonderful job in creating a magical retreat on San Juan Island!"

  • Perfect.

"This was our second stay at the Cottage-in-the-Barn, and once again, none of us wanted to leave. The cottage is impeccably maintained; the farm is peaceful and very welcoming. Our 2.5 year old is still talking about the chickens and the duck pond! We can't wait to come back!"
