"My husband and I just returned from an anniversary vacation to San Juan Island where we were fortunate enough to stay at Haro Haiku. The photos do not adequately portray just how beautiful and serene this home is. And the views alone will take your breath away! The kitchen was well-stocked, the furnishings were attractive and comfortable, the master bathroom was gorgeous, and did I mention the views! You can see the Haro Strait from the kitchen, dining area, living area and master bedroom. Stunning! We chose the west side of the island to hopefully catch some views of Orcas, and were greeted by them about an hour after we arrived and then every day thereafter. Haro Haiku is also conveniently located near all of the main attractions on San Juan Island. There is great hiking at Lime Kiln Park, Mount Grant and American Camp. Roche and Friday Harbor are not far away if you seek restaurants, museums, kayak/boat rentals, or whale watching tours. Overall a wonderful anniversary. Thank you Stephanie!"

"What a beautiful place to celebrate my 57th birthday. We sold our house on Orcas about 17 years ago, so I knew that this house was in a perfect location: close to Eastsound (the town), close to the ferry, close to the golf course, and close to West Sound. The house is as pictured, but lives even better; quality construction and smart design. The layout of the house is wonderful for two couples. They had their end of the house, with a bath and bedroom. We had our end of the house (closes off with a big sliding door) with large bedroom, separate master closet, laundry, and bathroom. The master bath has two sinks and a separate toilet/shower area.
The kitchen and main living area are connected. The view out the bank of sliding doors that run the length of the living room is spectacular. You can see Eastsound across the bay. The house stayed cool as it faces northeast and it wasn't a terribly hot week; and we opened many windows and the sliding doors to let the fresh air in.
The patio is private and quiet. You can hear the water below. The kitchen is set up for cooks; but we ate dinner out while we were on island. West Sound Cafe provided a beautiful setting and wonderful food. The same for Inn at Ship Bay. Rose's was perfect for lunch. A run to Island Market after unpacking allowed us to stock up on things we couldn't bring in the car.
There is WiFi (slow compared to off island, but worked well) and there was a TV in the living room and 2nd bedroom. The set of Mexican Train dominos in the game drawer led to a fun game night.
Our friends have already recommended Casa Verde to their friends. I just hope that they don't rent the house in mid-July, as we would like to return again. Thank you to the owner for sharing this wonderful house."

"I had the wonderful experience of staying at Tranquil Cove with a group of dear friends. We literally didn't have to leave because the house and surroundings provided us with a great, relaxing weekend retreat. The house was spacious, airy, comfortable and had beautiful views from both floors. The kitchen was well-equipped and there was plenty of room to spread out and relax. We will definitely return! Thank you!!"

"As I am hiding in my bedroom back in Texas, listening to a house full of shrieking teenagers, I am transporting myself back in time (one month) to the Waterhouse. My husband and I stayed for three nights. We holed up at the Waterhouse except for a few excursions into town to shop at King's Market (we did stop there right off the ferry but needed to add a little to our groceries once we decided we were definitely staying put), antique and used book shopping, our Christmas ornament for our travel tree, and finding Joe to make my beautiful meat and cheese boards (which is a whole 'nother story). We had all the windows open the first day due to our luggage unloading and unpacking but quickly cranked them back down and had the fireplace going, which quickly got lit every morning for coffee and was great to have on at night with wine. We were able to prepare wonderful meals due to all the utensils available and that wickedly cool propane cookstove! At our daily treks to the cove, we found starfish, sea glass, awesome driftwood, and beautiful rocks. Oh, and the grass around the property was such a lovely emerald green! Eagles, ducks, sea lions (at least that's what my husband thinks he saw), and deer came to visit us, too. The house is situated on the property so that all of the rooms have a great view of the ocean right outside the windows. It was great to wake up and look out the window first thing laying in bed to see the water. I only wish we could have experienced an awesome lightning storm and/or whales. I already feel relaxed just picturing all of this again. Suzanne was awesome!! Thank you so much for being so trusting with your property to allow people to visit and enjoy it! We will be back."
