  • Pplenty of platters

"Rating Details: I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was more than happy with the location. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. The property manager was more than helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We went to Lopez for Thanksgiving. We prepped, baked and cooked a big turkey dinner. Used the kitchen daily. The kitchen cleanliness was disappointing. Drawers were dirty and cluttered and not well organized. The quality pots and pans were cheap and on arrival there was no room for our pantry food. What the kitchen did have was plenty of platters-- large, small and variety of patterns. Could have used less platters and more serving dishes. Also not enough dish and kitchen towels. Had to use face and hand towels. For a gourmet kitchen the lack of dish towels, serving bowls and cluttered cabinets was a bit frustrating."

  • Heaven On Earth

"My husband and I stayed at the Sea Spray Cottage for 5 days. As we write this , one can only think of hearing the surf rolling up on the pristine beach next to our cottage. We even saw eagles flying by! Lopez Island is wonderful , and staying at the south end of this island is perfect, no crowds. You have the place to yourself. Perfect place for couples. All of the pictures are true. Very, Very CLEAN! The gardens are wonderful too. This property is very well maintained. If peace and quiet is what you desire, Sea Spray is the place. We love you guys and will be back! Hugs, Chris and Kathy"

  • Perfect, perfect, perfect

"We were looking for a home for our family for the last three nights of our 10 day bike trip. We have three kids, 16, 15 and 12. The owner was kind from my very first inquiry email to her. She was also very flexible with our schedule. She kindly turned the heat on for us just before we arrived and that was an example of the owner thoughtfulness that makes or breaks a VRBO experience. There is just something about the warmth that envelopes you when you walk into such an old and well-cared for home. I loved the kitchen and we spent a lot of time in the dining room playing card games. The girls were on the piano quite a bit and Jenga in the living room was very popular. There was a ton of room for our family (always one more nook or cranny to escape to) and we could have fit two families in (as long as there are no light sleepers). It felt more like staying in a favorite aunt's home than a rental--it is more of a gift to stay here. I loved reading the history of this old home. We did not have a fire outside until the last night and I regret that we didn't spend more time outside. The yard is fantastic. I loved having the Galley next door as it supplemented our meals and card playing well (great nachos and fries). If you are an uptight city person who would get irritated at a loose (but fully functioning) bedroom doorknob or get frustrated that the laundry room is part of the 2nd bathroom (I'm grateful there was a 2nd full bathroom-key to a happy marriage), do not stay here-you don't deserve it. I loved that the owner had laundry detergent for us to use, all the extra games, great books (I read "Glass Castle" in one day!). Thank you!"

  • Gorgeous Island Retreat

"I've been vacationing on Lopez with family for the past 20+ years and our stay at the Channel House was far and away the best! The view and secluded beach can't be beat. The master bedroom suite and cozy living room below is an oasis when you want an escape from family. We enjoyed using the kayaks and playing badmitten in the huge yard. The 5 acres allowed plenty of room for our 3 Labradors to play and explore. The hot tub worked flawlessly and could hold 6 comfortably. Even when the weather turned, the collection of movies, games and WiFi kept us entertained for hours. The gas heat lamp on the porch and huge fire pit allowed us to relax for hours into the night. All the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Hope we can stay here again next summer!"
