  • Idyllic and Tranquil Cabin in the Pines

"Mud Bay Cabin is an idyllic and tranquil vacation retreat; nestled in the pines on the southern part of Lopez Island. Karleen is the most generous and accommodating host. The cabin was perfect for the two of us. My boyfriend and I were visiting from Phoenix; celebrating his 50th birthday! We couldn't have been more happier with our vacation accommodations. The people of Lopez Island were truly very warm and friendly. We got to experience the 4th of July on the island; from the Fun Walk/Run, to the 4th of July Parade and barbeque. All of the parks are not to bee missed! Wonderful hiking trails and spectacular views...all a stone's throw from the Mud Cabin. Karleen gave us great insight on the areas to see...she even shared with us her personal experience of seeing Orcas off Iceberg Point the two nights before we left. We were able to retrace her steps the last night of our stay and we were witness to a doe and buck that crossed our path, as well as 20-30 Orcas swimming right off of Iceberg Point. It was a spectacular climax to our unforgettable stay on this wonderful island and vacation retreat at Mud Bay Cabin. I hope we are able to make it back here soon! Karleen, thank you for sharing this wonderful place with us."

  • Perfect place on Lopez

"This was our family's third time staying at this beautiful home. We return each time because we have stayed at quite a few of the homes on Lopez over the years, and love this one the most. The views, the family soccer on the lawn, waking up in such a comfortable bed with the sun streaming in, a great and cozy space for the kids, and the excellent kitchen are just some of the things that make this place our favorite. We love biking to town, or to the nearby farm stand. Access to the beach couldn't be easier, and we enjoy walking to Spencer Spit to rent kayaks. This house is in a great location for fun and adventure. The owner is a pleasure to deal with, and has always been very helpful and responsive. Highly recommended for a great vacation."

  • Relaxing & Restful

"This is a lovely and charming house with a unique design-- rustic and homey. The views out the windows are beautiful and at night, you can see the stars from the skylights in the ceiling. There are many birds outside and oftentimes, deer at night. The house is quiet and close to Shark Reef Park (within easy walking distance), where you can spot seals or watch the sunset. The owner, Asha was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend anyone who is staying at Lopez Island to consider this house. We mostly bicycled, explored beaches & kayaked and found the location a great launching point and not that far from Lopez Village."

  • Gorgeous Island Retreat

"I've been vacationing on Lopez with family for the past 20+ years and our stay at the Channel House was far and away the best! The view and secluded beach can't be beat. The master bedroom suite and cozy living room below is an oasis when you want an escape from family. We enjoyed using the kayaks and playing badmitten in the huge yard. The 5 acres allowed plenty of room for our 3 Labradors to play and explore. The hot tub worked flawlessly and could hold 6 comfortably. Even when the weather turned, the collection of movies, games and WiFi kept us entertained for hours. The gas heat lamp on the porch and huge fire pit allowed us to relax for hours into the night. All the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Hope we can stay here again next summer!"
