"Our vacation selection for Lummi Island was to find a home near the water, where we could relax and read while enjoying the serene mountain scene, along with family and two grandsons, and find plenty to keep the boys busy (only one television was sometimes challenging). The Eagles Rest home was spacious and roomy for all of us with a well stocked and equipped kitchen. We found we didn't need to purchase paper towels, napkins or toilet paper, and noted the large selection of spices for cooking meals. Occasional lunch or dinner out was a treat at the Beach Store Cafe and we were able to locate several geo cache locations with the grandsons finding hidden treasures. A downed tree during a weekend storm took out the electricity and television signal, but the home was equipped with a generator for emergency power. Our only disappointment was the condition of the carpeting on the stairs and in the master bedroom as it appeared dirty with obvious stains on the lighter carpeting in the upper areas. We felt cleaning/damage fees charged previous occupants could have been used to take care of this matter."

"My family of five spent three adventurous nights at Golden Hours 2. I say adventurous because a major storm hit the Pacific Northwest. We had thunder, rain and wind gusts greater than 60 miles per hour. The house weathered the storm wonderfully (mind you there major tree branches flying past). In the end the Island and Bellingham lost power. The Island had no power for the three days we were there but Garrett had thought of everything and the house automatically kicked over to run off a power generator. It was seamless and painless. This was very welcome and important for us as we had a three month old baby with us. It was very comfortable and cozy. Thank you for a memorable stay in your lovely home. When the sun peaked through we had a chance to enjoy the beautiful surrounds."

"Have you ever wanted to live on an island away from city stress? Than come to Lummi Island, a quiet sister to the neighboring San Juan Islands. A few short minutes on the Whatcom Ferry you arrive on an island that is calming, friendly and soothing to the soul. Hunt for sea glass on the expansive shores of the island. Gaze out to sea and transport back in time to the days of old. Greet the friendly native islanders and bathe in their returned hellos. Marcia, the owner is a one of a kind lady, with a one of a kind cottage for you to share."

"We stayed at Sunrise in July for 6 nights. This rental exceeded the expectations for all in our group of 3 adults and 1 autistic child (age 11). Louise meets you upon your arrival and answers all questions then lets you have complete privacy. Lummi Island is such a quiet non-tourist destination that it is the perfect setting for a restful vacation. The ferry ride over is so quick that it makes it easy to return to the mainland if necessary. The longest we waited was 20 minutes. Our best tip is to make sure you plan your meals and do your grocery shopping before taking the ferry. We stopped at the Safeway in Bellingham with our shopping list in hand. Use the bathrooms at the store before you head to the ferry.
The house is super comfortable so you feel like it's really your own. We used the gas BBQ for most meals making cooking a breeze. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and the frig can hold plenty of food. Our grandson spent all day on the beach fishing and exploring. We took hikes, rode our bikes, explored the island and just rested. The speed limit on the island is 25 mph so we always felt safe and we found the residents of the island to be very friendly folks. We saw eagles, owls, herons, river otters, seals and deer. The views from the house and deck are gorgeous...about 180 degrees of water view plus Mt. Baker on a clear day... great privacy to this house and beach.
Based on our experience, we can highly recommend this rental property to others."
