  • Wonderful retreat spot

"Two of us spent the week between Christmas and New Years at the cottage on Cayou Cove. We are writers and were delighted that there were two places to set up our computers. The accommodations were lovely--comfortable and pleasant. Kitchen had everything we needed, the hot tub was a joy in the evenings, and we appreciated the WIFI and TV. We enjoyed Eastsound and simply walking around Deer Harbor. Would love to come back and spend more time on the deck in the summer!"

  • Incredible cottage, area, owners

"We were lucky enough to enjoy this perfect slice of heaven for a whole month this summer and I cannot speak highly enough of our time here. The cottage itself is lovingly attended to with everything (and more) than one could need. Terrific linens and towels. We raided the garden on a regular basis - the strawberries rarely made it back to the cottage. The pond is serene and a short walk from the front porch. The location is 10 minutes to Eastsound. less to Westsound, maybe 20 minutes to the ferry and 25 to Moran State Park (all guesstimates) yet you feel a thousand miles from civilization. But there is also wi-fi, a really nice tv, washer-dryer, full kitchen and bath. We're going back for sure. Cannot go wrong with Susan and Wally - always helpful but left us to ourselves. Perfect slice of heaven."

  • Beautiful waterfront, cozy, comfortable home!

"This was a fantastic house on a beautiful piece of property. The view itself is worth everything. We loved the private beach and grassy rock to sit on. Each morning we brought our coffee and breakfast down to the water, enjoyed the incredible views of water, islands, and Mt. Baker, and felt like we were the only ones around. The short walk from waterfront to the house made it feel like we had the whole property to ourselves and was incredibly enjoyable. I cannot emphasize this enough - the views, nature, and surroundings are incredible! Great yard to bring a football or frisbee to play around on or just laze in a chair. It would be perfect in the summer to bring your kayak and leave straight from the front yard! Onto the house, a perfect size! The open living room and dining room made it feel comfortable, the wood burning fireplace gave us something to cozy up to at night, and the well equipped kitchen was great to cook in. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was spacious, and the deck was perfect to sit on. Huge windows on the whole front of the house gave us quite the view to wake up to and go to bed to. The 2 bedrooms were good size and comfortable. House was clean and well-maintained. The location was great. Close to Doe Bay and Olga Cafe (a must do!). Easy access and a short drive from Eastsound and the ferry and very close to Mt. Constitution and Moran State Park. Karen was great work with as well - we can't wait to come back!"

  • We will be back!

"My high school girlfriends and I stayed at Rutabaga, an absolutely charming place on Orcas Island, San Juan Islands, in Washington State. We totally enjoyed staying at the Bunk House and Boat Shed. The two buildings were filled with wonderful old artifacts from the fifties and earlier. (For the first hour we were there, I took many pictures of all the cool things!) The kitchen was on the side porch outside the Bunkhouse. There was a fire pit not far from the buildings for those who wanted to sit around the fire at night. The hosts were great! We had a very relaxing and fun time at this wonderful place."
