  • Amazing home and fantastic vacation!

"We enjoyed our stay so much we want to come back every year. This rental way exceeded our expectations. The views were breath taking. The home and the amenities in the home were unbelievable. We really enjoyed our stay as well as the location. Our children loved exploring the grounds and the walkway to the ocean. We made s'mores in the fire pit. We took advantage of the games, grill, sauna and hot tub. We went sea kayaking, visited East Sound, hiked the parks, and loved watching all the wildlife. The drive down the property to the home could have been our favorite part of the stay! Thank you for letting us use your beautiful home."

  • Perfect Get Away at a Great Value

"I had the great pleasure of staying at the Crow's Nest in early November. It was my first time on Orcas Island and I couldn't have asked for a better location, more comfortable stay, or more convenient arrangements. The Nest is just that, a perfect little nest for one or two people. The Nest is spacious with lots of natural light and windows/french doors with amazing views of the bay...you can even watch the seaplanes land and approach the nearby marina. The whole place feels clean and cozy. I was traveling in the off season so it wasn't busy at any of the places I visited....but the weather was wonderful and the air crisp and the skies clear. Don't be put off by fall in the Pacific Northwest. Having the private deck overlooking everything in the bay was a special treat (the fishmonger was stationed at the dock during my visit - a tasty treat for fish lovers!!) You can even look out at the bay from the bed!! The morning sounds and light are just wonderful. The Nest is well situated to all locations on the Island. However, the immediate area isn't busy with tourists once the ferry traffic heading to Deer Harbor disperses. Having said that, if you are looking to go out to breakfast or dinner in the off season, be prepared to drive to the East Sound or to the Orcas Hotel. Some options are dinner only, and in some cases only on the weekends. But, to be fair, this is totally understandable as it's the low tourist season. The Crow's Nest owners are great to work with and make everything so simple and convenient. It's the perfect getaway for adventures on/around the island(s), a romantic weekend, or a quiet locale for sitting back with a great glass of wine, a good book, and an amazing view. The gas fireplace/stove is an added perk to chase away the slight chill in the fall and night air. I almost hate writing this review because I don't want this gem to be spoiled by constant bookings....but it should be shared. The prices are beyond fair. Unless you are expecting the Four Seasons and want someone to wait on you, you won't be disappointed. The owners have created the perfect little oasis on the Island. In short, it fit my needs perfectly in every way."

  • Serenity and Space!

"Everyone was impressed with the beautiful décor and thoughtful amenities in this lovely home. I must admit we were a little overwhelmed with the notebooks of rules and directions for everything you can imagine, but we appreciated the detailed instructions and expectations outlined for us. The owners were quick to make amends for a slight misunderstanding about our desired use of the sofa bed in the lower master bedroom and it was so nice to meet them personally when they came by Friday night. The home is spacious and the view is spectacular and serene. I especially enjoyed late nights sitting on the deck watching the clouds move over the water. I haven't heard quiet like that in years. I wish we had known to reserve the firewood ahead of time so we could have enjoyed a fire in the fireplace, but we survived without it and entertained ourselves just fine. Thank you for a memorable experience!"

  • Great little house on Orcas

"My husband and I along with our daughter spent two nights in this house for a quick getaway while visiting Seattle. The television did not work and a quick call to the owner left me with the impression that she knew about the problem before our arrival. If you plan to do any serious cooking, the kitchen is barely big enough for one person. Also, bring you own skillets because the ones provided need to be replaced. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oils, and condiments. The water view was not what I expected after seeing the photos but Orcas is beautiful no matter where you stay. All in all we had a great time. The hot tub was an added bonus and very much enjoyed in the evenings while sipping a glass of wine. Also, very comfy beds. Perfect for a short getaway."
