"What an amazing property. Our family was on Orcas for my brother's 50th the week of July 4th, 10 of us stayed at Headland House, and absolutely loved the property. Do not let the "check-out" to do list scare you, the truth is, it was a piece of cake because the owners have made sure that everything is in it's place when you arrive, everything is labeled, so putting things back and catching the early ferry was no problem. The property is so well maintained and basically you are expected to treat the house like you would treat your own house. We ranged in age from 80-14 and we all loved the house, the kids loved all the "surprise" amenities! We all loved watching the USA women's soccer finals are the movie screen, grilled, and took full advantage of the hot tub every day! We would highly recommend the property and hope to stay there again in the future!"

"This was the best vacation I have ever had. This home is so beautiful, it feels magical. I especially noticed the Zen feeling of calmness while I was sitting on the deck enjoying the magnificent ocean view. I heard only the sounds of the gentle waves hitting the shore, while birds flew and sang all around me.
This is a gorgeous home decorated with a nautical theme that really blends into its natural surroundings. I felt as if I was sailing on a ship. I especially loved dimming the nautical lights at night while enjoying the warm glow of the fireplace. This is the perfect romantic getaway. The lighted crab is darling, too!!!
This home is on the water with the most spectacular sunset views I have ever seen. Every night we enjoyed breathtaking sunsets displaying vibrant colors found in a rainbow. Orcas Island is a treasure. The wild life is abundant. We saw many bald eagles, deer, birds, wild turkeys, and otters. From the deck we watched a family of River Otters eat fish. It was fascinating. Seeing Minks from the deck was a special treat. First, I caught a glimpse of a small animal with bright brown fur run along the path below. Then another ran along the grassy area before disappearing into the brush. A short while later, we saw the Minks swimming and playing in the water and along the shore. They were so cute to watch. I was amazed at how many Bald Eagles I saw soaring above hunting for fish. One Bald Eagle perched itself on a tree branch close to the deck.
I highly recommend this vacation rental. Don't forget to bring your binoculars!"

"It's a large spacious house that was just right for 4 couples. We all had our own space which was great! We were surprised and disappointed that the beds weren't made when we arrived. We didn't expect to have to make our own beds considering the cost of the house. Everything else was very comfortable with lots of extras! We enjoyed spending a lot of time on the deck looking at the scenery and watching for whales. The only disappointment was that the bushes in front of the deck needed trimmed back so they interfered somewhat with our view. We enjoyed the hot tub and also walking down to the beach. We had a great time!"

"Ah....honestly, we have not stopped talking about our wonderful stay at Delongview. We had four glorious days and nights over mid-winter break at this special getaway. We were blessed with the mild winter days, which also led to starlit nights we were able to enjoy from the comfort of the sofa while gazing out the enormous skylight. Nearly everything you could need is in the house, and if you cannot find it it 1) you have not looked hard enough or, 2) you will find something else that will be a fine substitute. The only exception is if you are traveling with small children, you will want to bring your own equipment and entertainment for them. The movie, game, and book selection is definitely geared for adults, but we were prepared and brought what we needed. As it turns out, the kids ended up chasing each other around in circles in the large great room and kept themselves entertained for many hours doing so! It was a great set up because we could keep an eye on them while still relaxing or while making our meals. The slate floors were definitely very efficient at heating the house - as some have stated almost too efficient, but it also enabled us to just open the doors and let in the fresh air. I have debated whether to suggest an upgrade to the electronics as the TV, while indeed has a flat screen, is not a flat screen TV, and is rather dated. However, the point of spending time at a home like this is that you get away from the electronics. Instead we listened to music on the CD player - had dance parties, and enjoyed our time together without everyone staring at the TV. The wi-fi worked great There was a good selection of books and puzzles for adults. The house was nearly immaculate and I felt comfortable just settling right in without worry that the house needed cleaning. The trees have grown some since the photos were taken, so the water views were not as expansive as the photos seem to indicate, but this did not inhibit the magnificent sunrises from every room in the house. My only complaint is actually my own fault in that I waited until our second night to try out the tub, thus delaying by a day my full relaxation. All I can say is ahhhhhhhhh!!!!! Now I want one too! Caution though - all you need is one or two squirts of the bath gel for MORE than an ample amount of bubbles! Many thanks to Donna for sharing her wonderful home with all it's comforts and special touches. We hope to return sometime soon!"
