Perfect for a big family gathering!
"We've just spent a delightful week with our four kids and their spouses and kids at the Historic Baker House on Orcas Island. Everything was great -- the kitchen was well equipped so that we could cook meals for 14 people comfortably. The tire swings and blackberry bushes enticed our 3 year olds outside and there was plenty of room to set up croquet and bocce ball and everyone loved the frisbee golf course. We spent a lot of time outside but also were comfortable inside on a rainy day. The beds were comfortable and there was space for clothes in dresses and closets. On the couple of warm days we could have used more fans but the space was never uncomfortable.
Its 10 minutes walking from town which makes it easy to zip in for breakfast burritos or pastries. The restaurant choices are somewhat limited but everything was delicious. The locals made us feel very welcome and we had a wonderful time. If you go, don't miss the Buck Bay Oyster farm for oysters, clams and crab.
Thank you Gerry Baker for sharing your wonderful home!"

"The Crows Nest is a delightful studio, beautifully decorated and maintained with a wonderful view over the water and small marina. It was lovely to sit on the deck and watch the boats and birds. A hummingbird would sit on the wire whilst a kingfisher fished off the dock!
Ideal for a couple,a perfect spot, with space to park your car outside.Would definitely recommend."

"My husband and I along with our daughter spent two nights in this house for a quick getaway while visiting Seattle. The television did not work and a quick call to the owner left me with the impression that she knew about the problem before our arrival. If you plan to do any serious cooking, the kitchen is barely big enough for one person. Also, bring you own skillets because the ones provided need to be replaced. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oils, and condiments. The water view was not what I expected after seeing the photos but Orcas is beautiful no matter where you stay. All in all we had a great time. The hot tub was an added bonus and very much enjoyed in the evenings while sipping a glass of wine. Also, very comfy beds. Perfect for a short getaway."

"We stayed here for a family reunion and it was perfect. The home is relaxing and quiet-- neighbors around but not too close :)
Plenty of bedrooms, nice kitchen and dining area, comfortable living room. Our favorite spot was probably the porch with its incredible view of Mt. Baker. The lawn was great to just hang out on, and the fire pit terrific for evening smores. So nice to have uses of the the 2 sit-in kayaks-- did lots of great paddling from 'our' beach. We did bring one of our own paddles which was a good upgrade; though the paddles there were totally usable, they were not offset (for those interested-- not a big deal). Great low-tech entertainment from the deer and turkeys casually wandering around the property.
Location is great- quick drive to Eastsound and Moran State Park.
We loved our stay here and heartily recommend it."
