"We stayed at the absolutely fabulous house to celebrate my husband's 70th birthday! We were there with our son and daughter in law. They live in Seattle and we in Texas. I cannot say enough nice things about this house! The location was very private and calming. We had planned on doing some sightseeing, but the house was so incredible we stayed there most of the time! We had already planned several meals out, but when I saw how well equipped the kitchen was, I wished I had planned to cook.
The only thing that we found to be a little out of line of our expectations, was the lack of the little things- like no tissues, toilet paper at the end of the rolls, no soft soap for washing hands or showering. We found an almost empty container soap in one of the bathrooms and used that. Bought toilet tissue and tissues the next day.
We found the owner extremely easy to deal with. I always like to talk to the people I rent from. She was very prompt with the paperwork!
We have dreams of returning to this very SPECIAL home in the near future"

"Maggie's Manor is well equipped for large groups (we had 10 people). Kitchen is well stocked. There were plenty of towels. Lots of seating, deck is great, and fire pit out back was nice. It is a very peaceful place with a great view of Deer Harbor.
That being said, there were a few things that were a little funky. The kitchen and upstairs bathroom had carpeting! Not a good idea. You can't sweep it and who knows what is in it. Kinda gross. There are two sinks in the kitchen island which seems like a good idea but there are no sprayer nozzles so you can't clean out the sink without pouring pitchers of water in them. Plus the faucets swing out over the counter so if you accidently turn on the water with them like that you've just run water all over the counter and floor. The water pressure was too low for the main kitchen sink nozzle to spray so again no way to clean out the sink without a lot of effort. Garbage disposal doesn't really work; caused a blockage and the sink wouldn't drain, had to do some ad hoc plumbing work. Doors don't close very well. Main floor bathroom could use some updating. So, some things that could be fixed to make it totally top notch.
But, nothing was a show stopper and it was a great weekend."

"The house was exactly as it appeared in the photos, although I thought the kitchen/dining area was going to be a bit bigger. It still accommodated our group of 8 people just fine, with room to spare. We stayed here for my mom’s 50th birthday and it was nice to give the downstairs suite to my parents for some privacy. The views from the house were amazing. I lost a game of rock, paper, scissors to my sister and ended up having to sleep in the back bedroom without a view. The house was well stocked with utensils and dishes for cooking which was great because we made dinner on the first night.
In addition to the great amenities this house had to offer, we encountered a few cons as well. I went to put beer in the door of the fridge and noticed the shelf was broken and barely hanging on. I tried to put the beer there but it wouldn’t hold. I set the shelf aside so it wouldn’t get damaged further by people trying to put things in it. It was a small fridge to begin with so one less shelf didn’t help the situation.
We also encountered a bunch of ants in the kitchen. They were the tiny ones and were making their way from the sink to the ceiling. Kind of gross. Management said they knew about it and were spraying when the house was vacant.
The house doesn’t have much lighting – all switches are on dimmers which was cool. The lamp in the living area wasn’t working. We had to search for a light bulb…we ended up finding one and it worked fine.
We were really excited to use the fireplace! It didn’t work. We tried the switch on the wall & referred to the gray binder. The only thing we saw was the manual from when it was bought. I tried calling the number I was given with no luck. My dad ended up figuring it out. Apparently the gas valve inside the stove was in the off position.
The driveway is steep!! We didn’t have a problem because we were in taxi vans but if you had a low car you wouldn’t be able to enter. Heed their advice when they say to have 4WD/a higher vehicle.
Overall, the house was comfortable, cozy and perfect for our group."

"Wow, this house was so great. I loved everything about it. Beautiful, clean property, and the two level layout was great. Kitchen was very well-appointed, the fireplaces were great. The location is great - very private and cozy. Couldn't have asked for anything better!"
