  • Very relaxing stay!

"The pictures do not do this place justice! The house is warm, tidy and well equipped, the bed is luxurious and the views are stunning. A perfect spot to unwind from city life. Highly recommended. Thanks so much for having us to stay!"

  • Feels Like Home

"My wife, young daughter, and I have stayed here twice over the last year. This house is extremely comfortable and makes you feel like you are stepping back in time (in a good way). The kitchen is big enough and well equipped to cook some serious meals. Almost every room in the house has a great view. We hiked in the nearby Turtle Mountain nature preserve twice this trip (amazing views). The trailhead is only about 1/4 mile walk from the house. If you like the feel of vintage architecture and furnishings in a peaceful waterfront setting you will like this place. Ben and Jessica, Seattle WA."

  • We will be back!

"My high school girlfriends and I stayed at Rutabaga, an absolutely charming place on Orcas Island, San Juan Islands, in Washington State. We totally enjoyed staying at the Bunk House and Boat Shed. The two buildings were filled with wonderful old artifacts from the fifties and earlier. (For the first hour we were there, I took many pictures of all the cool things!) The kitchen was on the side porch outside the Bunkhouse. There was a fire pit not far from the buildings for those who wanted to sit around the fire at night. The hosts were great! We had a very relaxing and fun time at this wonderful place."

  • All we could ask for

"The place was lovely and had everything we needed to celebrate Thanksgiving away from home. Having two young kids, access to laundry facilities was a bonus. Off-site parking was not an issue since there was plenty of street parking nearby. Would love to come back."
