Orca Lover's Dream!
"My husband and I stayed here with our two teenage daughters. If you want to see orca whales - this house is a must! Within an hour of arriving, we saw a huge pod of orcas from the deck! My girls were in heaven! We had hoped to see at least one orca on our trip and we ended up seeing them almost everyday from the deck - sometime a couple times in one day! The deck is great - we spent a lot of time just watching the boats go by and enjoying the sunsets! One day we heard a noise off the side of the deck and looked down to see a mama deer and her baby laying down in the grass. We also saw a bald eagle fly by. The house is nice and well stocked. Plenty of room for everyone. My girls enjoyed the piano too. We did a kayaking trip and a whale watching tour, but the house was by far the best place to see orcas for us!"

"We rented this house for a family reunion/vacation for 9 of us ranging in age from 12 - 70. We all loved the house, with its beautiful view of the Bay, abundant wildlife sightings and the large great room where we could all hang out together. We found all of the rooms comfortable and the aesthetics, including the many wonderful quilts, very warm and welcoming. It was very clean and well maintained, with lots of helpful hints on things to do on the island. I would definitely recommend this place."

"The house was more like a home than a rental house. The rooms were spacious with nice furnishings and decorations. The kitchen was well stocked and it was so nice having a gas grill on the deck. The three level home allowed for everyone to spread out and have plenty of living space. The downstairs foozeball table was an added bonus. It was so nice to have lots of board games and books at the house. The views from the balconys were beautiful and the kids loved taking out the row boat and finding clams and oysters when the tide went out. Dennis, Susan and Grace were most gracious hosts, always available to help or answer any questions. We loved our time on SJI and were so comfortable and relaxed at the home. The house is situated on a cute lane off a main road and close enough to town to run to the store but off the main road so it was very quiet and peaceful. The kids also loved seeing the deer in the yard and the rabbits. We can't wait to go back and would definitely stay here next time."

"My husband and I just returned from an anniversary vacation to San Juan Island where we were fortunate enough to stay at Haro Haiku. The photos do not adequately portray just how beautiful and serene this home is. And the views alone will take your breath away! The kitchen was well-stocked, the furnishings were attractive and comfortable, the master bathroom was gorgeous, and did I mention the views! You can see the Haro Strait from the kitchen, dining area, living area and master bedroom. Stunning! We chose the west side of the island to hopefully catch some views of Orcas, and were greeted by them about an hour after we arrived and then every day thereafter. Haro Haiku is also conveniently located near all of the main attractions on San Juan Island. There is great hiking at Lime Kiln Park, Mount Grant and American Camp. Roche and Friday Harbor are not far away if you seek restaurants, museums, kayak/boat rentals, or whale watching tours. Overall a wonderful anniversary. Thank you Stephanie!"
