Waterhouse, Take Me Away.........
"As I am hiding in my bedroom back in Texas, listening to a house full of shrieking teenagers, I am transporting myself back in time (one month) to the Waterhouse. My husband and I stayed for three nights. We holed up at the Waterhouse except for a few excursions into town to shop at King's Market (we did stop there right off the ferry but needed to add a little to our groceries once we decided we were definitely staying put), antique and used book shopping, our Christmas ornament for our travel tree, and finding Joe to make my beautiful meat and cheese boards (which is a whole 'nother story). We had all the windows open the first day due to our luggage unloading and unpacking but quickly cranked them back down and had the fireplace going, which quickly got lit every morning for coffee and was great to have on at night with wine. We were able to prepare wonderful meals due to all the utensils available and that wickedly cool propane cookstove! At our daily treks to the cove, we found starfish, sea glass, awesome driftwood, and beautiful rocks. Oh, and the grass around the property was such a lovely emerald green! Eagles, ducks, sea lions (at least that's what my husband thinks he saw), and deer came to visit us, too. The house is situated on the property so that all of the rooms have a great view of the ocean right outside the windows. It was great to wake up and look out the window first thing laying in bed to see the water. I only wish we could have experienced an awesome lightning storm and/or whales. I already feel relaxed just picturing all of this again. Suzanne was awesome!! Thank you so much for being so trusting with your property to allow people to visit and enjoy it! We will be back."

"The glowing reviews about this home are all true. My husband and I stayed here for over a month in January and fell in love with the house, the VIEW, the wood stove, the walks, the eagles and otters and foxes and more. Karen and Norris were excellent hosts - available but never intrusive. Any issues we encountered were immediately remedied - newspaper/kindling for the wood stove was provided, a shelf in the fridge missing a railing was quickly ordered and replaced. Honestly, nothing was missing from this home and we would have loved to have stayed indefinitely. January was a great month to go. It's quiet yet restaurants and stores are still open. Beaches and hills are your own to walk. Animals are easy to find with so few people about. We miss the peace and quiet already. Thank you Karen and Norris!"

"We stayed in the one bedroom at Courtyard Suites, my husband, myself, and our adult daughter. The queen bed in the bedroom was so comfortable, and my daughter, who is usually relegated to uncomfortable fold out sofas, slept well on the futon. The suite had all the amenities for us to cook in, barbeque, and watch a couple of movies. The location was fabulous, an easy walk to everything in Friday Harbor. The nights were pretty warm so we slept with the windows open, and heard some morning noise but it was not loud or intrusive. We brought a car for excursions to other parts of the island, and especially enjoyed the outdoor sculpture garden near Roche harbor. Kristine was extremely helpful with advice about where to go, when and how to make a ferry reservation, and where to get a good breakfast after our 6:20 AM ferry crossing (The Bean). We had a wonderful vacation and would definitely stay at Courtyard Suites again if we get back to this part of the country!"

"When visiting any island destination, we always choose a waterfront property for the view. On our first trip to San Juan Island, we took a chance on a property close to town. We did not regret our decision. Tami was a pleasure to work with and reservation was an ease. The townhouse is clean, well-appointed and cozy. The living room is comfortable and we enjoyed the large flat screen TV. The kitchen, dining table and patio were spacious and had everything you could possibly need. The upstairs bedrooms were clean and comfortable. Having a garage available was a convenient amenity especially when it rained. The town of Friday Harbor is quaint and the locals friendly. We also drove to Roche Harbor and enjoyed that as well especially our visit to the historic Hotel de Haro and the giant lime kilns from the 1800s. We truly enjoyed our trip and the townhouse was the perfect rental for us. Thank you, Tami!"
