Relaxing & Restful
"This is a lovely and charming house with a unique design-- rustic and homey. The views out the windows are beautiful and at night, you can see the stars from the skylights in the ceiling. There are many birds outside and oftentimes, deer at night. The house is quiet and close to Shark Reef Park (within easy walking distance), where you can spot seals or watch the sunset. The owner, Asha was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. I would highly recommend anyone who is staying at Lopez Island to consider this house. We mostly bicycled, explored beaches & kayaked and found the location a great launching point and not that far from Lopez Village."

"My girls and I LOVED our stay at the Homestead. If we had a house on Orcas Island --- it would be the Homestead. There is a special feeling to the house and we all felt instantly 'at home' so I think its very appropropriately named. It was more like staying at a family member's home than a vacation rental. The location, amenities -- all A+. Thank you for sharing this special place with us -- it was perfect for our family getaway."

"The owners went out of their way to answer our questions and meet our needs of 8 adults, 1 toddler, and 2 babies. The house is so charming and spacious, with a great kitchen dining areas. It is close to Friday Harbor town and ferry and a lovely ride to Roche Harbor, the two Camps, and Lime Kiln State Park (where we did see the orcas!). The property itself is home to numerous species of birds: pileated woodpecker, olive-sided flycatcher, black-headed grosbeak, red-shafted flicker, and many many more -- including a merganser and a great blue heron that flew into one of the two ponds! I recommend this place for its beautiful nature surroundings, its lovely interior and deck, and its proximity to the rest of the island."

"My friend and I spent a week at the Sunrise Cliff House. We were so tired when we first got there, and the first couple of days were so relaxing and rejuvenating. We had a bonfire and had s'mores one day. Once we were rested, our days were filled with activities - farmers market, shopping, hiking the many trails that Matt told us about. (We loved the trail along the cliffs above the ocean!) The locals are very friendly and waved as they passed us. We couldn't believe how much there was to do on a 29.5 square mile island! We had such a good time we are already planning a 10 night stay next year, so we will have time for inter-island travel."
