  • perfect Perch in Orcas

"Rating Details: I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. I was very happy with the location. The vacation rental was spotless. The property manager was very helpful. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third trip to Orcas Island, and this beautiful home met and exceeded our high expectations. Terrific location: quiet, close to beautiful Moran State Park, walking distance to Rosario resort for access to marina, pool, bar and grill, general store. Nice size for two couples or small family (we have two kids). Not a huge place, so bigger party could feel pinched. But the floor plan/design is well thought out and flows nicely for 4 or so people. Finishes are hip and contemporary... 2 big sliding doors let in cool breezes off the Sound and tons of light. Kids loved the rope swing on the tree in the back! View is amazing. Deck is wonderful... blackberry bushes on property to pick. Overall, a delightful place. The driveway is indeed very steep, as mentioned in the description. Drivers who aren't confident could be a bit freaked out... it's not easy to maneuver at the top of the hill, and I did bump the front end of my rental car into the granite rocks. (No damage to the rocks, and rental car agency didn't catch the ding!) That's the only (small) downside."

  • Gorgeous Island Retreat

"I've been vacationing on Lopez with family for the past 20+ years and our stay at the Channel House was far and away the best! The view and secluded beach can't be beat. The master bedroom suite and cozy living room below is an oasis when you want an escape from family. We enjoyed using the kayaks and playing badmitten in the huge yard. The 5 acres allowed plenty of room for our 3 Labradors to play and explore. The hot tub worked flawlessly and could hold 6 comfortably. Even when the weather turned, the collection of movies, games and WiFi kept us entertained for hours. The gas heat lamp on the porch and huge fire pit allowed us to relax for hours into the night. All the beds and furniture were very comfortable. Hope we can stay here again next summer!"

  • The Perfect Rental.

"I spent 10 days in Nov with my two dogs and it was delightful. No summer vacationers so it was very quiet. The grocery store and cafe were convenient, good sandwiches, good wine selection in store. Theres even a huge dog park three minutes away. The house is equiped with EVERYthing including spices and herbs. Nice cooking equipment, dishes, flatwear, etc. very light and cheerful, huge plus in the winter up here. Tastfully decorated, fluffy linens and the master bed ... ooh, zzzz! The house is much bigger than it looks with a huge loft area in addition to the bedrooms. Nice BBQ pit, unused in Nov, brrr. The owners are delightful and very accomodating. This is by far the nicest, coziest ( but not tiny-cozy) place Ive ever rented. Promise, you can't go wrong. Grab it and enjoy."

  • Beautiful area and beautiful home

"2 Couples in our 50's and 60's stayed here. This home is one of he highest elevations in the area for living. Beautiful sunsets, stars, and view of he water below. Very quiet, and with 2 decks, where the back deck/patio has a weber bbq. The kitchen is full of utensils, pans, silver ware, and has a dish washer, microwave, and stove/oven. The front room has a fireplace and a wood stove, and there is wood and kindling covered in the patio area. There a 3 beautiful rooms, and 2 bathrooms with showers, with one bathroom having a jackuzi. There are roads and trails just off of the property that are wonderful for walking and even biking. The location provides easy access to many activities on the island. There are kayak and bike shops, restaurants, and stores/shops to look at and buy things if interested. The owner was very accommodating when we asked if we could just stay 2 nights. He was also very helpful with sending us information about things to do in the area. There is nothing to clean up afterwards except for putting dishes, pans, silverware away clean. There were extra pillows and blankets, and even slippers as it is asked that shoes be taken off in the house. Therefore the entire house is very clean, and has many windows letting in lots of light. There is accessible music in each room, televisions, games to play, and wi fi. And finally, the ferry ride is a comfortable just under one hour ride from Anacortes, which is 1 1/2 hours north of Seattle. Dan/Janice, Chris/Julie"
