  • Great weekend getaway!

"My boyfriend and I stayed at the Madrona Cove Cottage this past weekend over Memorial Day. We had such a great time enjoying the island and staying at this cute studio-cottage with fantastic views of the water. When we arrived, the cottage was very clean and tidy and a binder was left out with information about the VRBO and things to do while in Friday Harbor. There is a great selection of CDs and DVDs to watch as well as direct TV, in case of bad weather. The kitchen is stocked with all of the appliances needed to cook meals and the bathroom is very spacious for a studio. We had a fantastic trip to Friday Harbor and we loved staying at this VRBO. We will definitely be returning in the future!"

  • Private beach with view!

"My parents and I rented this little cottage for 3 nights in September. We had amazing weather and the house and grounds were perfect for us. My mother loved the kitchen, and my Dad and I the view of the water, private beach and view of Mt. Baker. I spent all of the mornings watching the sunrise over Mt. Baker just to go back and watch the alpenglow on Mt. Baker as the sunset behind us. Neighbors were quiet. House had everything we needed. I believe the owner is a descendant of the original homesteader and we chatted with some family a bit when they drove down the lane. Very welcoming and friendly. The rental company was easy to work with and gave very detailed directions on how to get to this little part of the island. The only thing I would change for next time is maybe to pay for the housecleaning as the list of things to do made us a bit nervous. That said, I promptly received my full deposit back. Would definitely return."

  • Great little house on Orcas

"My husband and I along with our daughter spent two nights in this house for a quick getaway while visiting Seattle. The television did not work and a quick call to the owner left me with the impression that she knew about the problem before our arrival. If you plan to do any serious cooking, the kitchen is barely big enough for one person. Also, bring you own skillets because the ones provided need to be replaced. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, oils, and condiments. The water view was not what I expected after seeing the photos but Orcas is beautiful no matter where you stay. All in all we had a great time. The hot tub was an added bonus and very much enjoyed in the evenings while sipping a glass of wine. Also, very comfy beds. Perfect for a short getaway."
