"Rutabaga is such a beautiful, relaxing getaway! We had a group of 6 people. My husband, two girls and myself stayed in the bunkhouse which was perfect with two twin beds and a queen bed as well as a bathroom with shower and an outdoor kitchen! If you haven't had the pleasure of using an outdoor kitchen this is your chance!! Even though we had the indoor kitchen in the cottage that my sister and her boyfriend stayed in. Having separate houses was very nice for sleeping, showering and privacy. The pictures online are beautiful but truly do not do justice for this property. We were all in awe of this place from the moment of arrival. My daughters 12 and 9 spent the first 30 mins or so taking photos of the cottage and bunkhouse. Location was wonderful with a 20 minute drive to Mount Constitution (which I highly recommend hiking to the summit). Each night we enjoyed peaceful campfires overlooking the fields, marina and water. The owners are available if you need anything. Each area is impeccably maintained and cleaned, the beds are comfortable and warm. There's not a negative thing about Rutabaga. We look forward to our next trip to the Islands and to enjoy this amazing place again."

"This was our third year in this wonderful cottage. We adore our hosts, and have fallen in love with Lopez. If we have our way, we will be fortunate enough to return many more times. The hiking is wonderful. This year we were graced with spectacular sightings of Mt. Rainier (from our kayak), Mt. Baker (from Iceberg Point), and the Olympics (from the front porch). We saw river otters fishing, and every evening the salmon were jumping so close to shore that several other guests caught salmon casting from the beach. The garden provided bountiful produce including the most spectacular tomatoes. We are very grateful to know this place and these folks."

"My kids and I took our bikes over to Shaw on the ferry. Terry gave us a map of the island and marked out some great places for my young sons to encounter nature. It was fantastic and passenger bike trips inter island are free with your westbound ticket. Everyone was very kind and the island feels very remote. But you can catch a ferry over to orcas for dinner if you don't feel like cooking. The cabin was comfortable and well appointed, but we spent most of our time biking around the island;) I can't wait to go back!"

"Thank you for making our stay so pleasant. From the wine to the shampoo and conditioner to the flowers and beer, everything was perfect. We loved the bald eagles hanging in the tree! We tried everything--kayaking, biking, walking at low tide, relaxing in the hot tub, and dining out. It was a perfect place to relax and so close to Vancouver and the World Cup soccer. We had a wonderful time."
