  • Fantastic spot!

"We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage. It's comfortable and homey and the views are out of this world. It was perfect for our mother-in-law to get around with her walker and even her wheelchair. We had a fantastic Thanksgiving weekend. We come up to this area to visit my mother-in-law many times during the year. We will definitely try to rent this place again."

  • Amazing experience staying here

"My husband and I recently stayed at The Waterhouse for a week and we had the best vacation. Moments after our arrival we saw orcas from the house and we saw them every day of our stay. We also saw a young humpback whale very close to shore right in front of the house. There is so much wildlife around: blacktail deer including a spotted fawn, a raccoon that peered in the window, bald eagles on the rocky point seen from the living room, barn swallows tending their babies in mud nests on the house, white-crowned sparrows singing sweetly from the blackberry bushes and pelagic birds like rhino auklets diving for mouthfuls of herring, it looked like. The house itself is very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. I'm very picky about those things and it surpassed my expectations. Suzanne is so nice and made us feel at home. We explored the island a bit but spend most of our time here, having breakfast and lunch on the deck, sketching and reading or just watching from the window-seats indoors. Often after dark, we'd hear the orcas swimming by the house, their huffing-snorting sounds coming in the open bedroom windows. Falling asleep to the sounds of waves and orcas - it doesn't get any better!"

  • Wonderful Views

"This house is situated right on the bay. The views are great and we saw birds, geese, ducks, seals and jets from Whidbey Island. The grassy lot next door was appreciated to sit and enjoy our coffee in the morning sun. I was a bit concerned about seating for the six of us but there was plenty - on the deck, at the dining table and in the living room to watch a movie. The sleeping accommodations were a bit lacking for the six of us. Luckily we brought blow ups and we made do, but we came to the conclusion that we 65 plus aged ladies don't need to be sleeping on the floor! Also, be aware, this house is not ADA compliant. That said everything ales about this vacation house is wonderful - from the spacious bathrooms to the unique artwork and tile work. Enjoy!"

  • Everything we hoped for

"We had a fabulous stay at Tranquil Cove. The directions and instructions provided in advance were extremely helpful, and the house was well outfitted for our needs. We did a good amount of food prep at the house and all the implements we needed were available. And what a view. We were greeted on arrival by a mother otter swimming in the bay, and spotted one of her babies later in the week. A heron spent every evening fishing in the bay. Several bald eagles, including a young one, were frequently perched in the trees. And to the delight of all we watched orcas from the deck on three out of the seven days. In the evenings we watched 300+ meter cargo vessels coming towards us from the Straits -- and turning north to Port Robert. We used the iPhone MarineTraffic app to identify them: ships from Denmark, South Korea, Japan, and the UK. It was difficult to motivate ourselves to explore the island when we had such a fantastic vantage point just sitting on the deck with a glass of wine."
