  • Guys Golf Trip

"We just finished a 4 day golf trip and we used the Beach House as our "home base". All 4 of our rounds were in the Bellingham area and the drive wasn't too bad at all, and all the bigger stores are there too. There are a couple really nice courses (Semiahmoo and Loomis Trail) that are much closer to the house but we were on a budget and these courses are much higher priced than the Bellingham courses. Speaking of budget; for 8 guys trying to find a house to accommodate everyone comfortably, you can't beat the beach house. Everyone had their own bed except for 2 guys shared the king bed, if that doesn't work then there's lots of room for an inflatable bed. 2 guys need to sleep in the rec room, 1 on the futon and 1 on the pullout bed. The guy on the pullout said he was more comfortable on the coach as opposed to the pullout but I didn't try it so I can't comment there. There's a couple nice TVs. The kitchen is well equipped; there's a "help yourself" cupboard with some essentials but I recommend checking that before your first shop as we assumed a couple things would be there but they weren't (not a big deal). Nice little fire pit out front with lots of chairs to sit around. Friendly neighbors out walking dogs. Really short walk to the beach. BBQ isn't all that big and has seen better days, but it did the trick for us and we used it 3 of the 4 nights, it also has a hard line feed so you don't need to worry about running out of propane. Lots of beach towels downstairs along with some beach toys, there was no fridge in the little bar area which we found odd but it certainly wasn't a deal breaker. We had to be mindful with the hot water and gap out our showers or be sure not to take long ones. The jetted tub in the one room was very nice to have but I needed to fill it in phases to avoid running cold water into it. Once it had sufficient water in it though it was soooo nice. All in all this was a great place and we wouldn't hesitate to come back, in fact we already discussed using it for our next golf trip. Also, Paula was very accommodating, easy to contact and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks!"

  • Wonderful retreat spot

"Two of us spent the week between Christmas and New Years at the cottage on Cayou Cove. We are writers and were delighted that there were two places to set up our computers. The accommodations were lovely--comfortable and pleasant. Kitchen had everything we needed, the hot tub was a joy in the evenings, and we appreciated the WIFI and TV. We enjoyed Eastsound and simply walking around Deer Harbor. Would love to come back and spend more time on the deck in the summer!"

  • Perfect location for us!

"We were excited when we booked this property because of its proximity to prime whale watching locations. It did not disappoint. The first night we sat on the deck and watched the Orcas in the straight. We also had the company of a deer and a fox. We loved the location because it was far enough away from the town that we did not have to deal with crowds but close enough that a run into the grocery store was easy peasy. It was also a perfect distance from the many areas we liked to frequent. The house was exactly as portrayed in the pictures. The kitchen was well-stocked and he rooms were comfortable. We enjoyed making use of the porch and the grill. The house was plenty big enough to accommodate the three couples that stayed. We also appreciated the owners looking out for us and letting us know when the whales were spotted near our location. It was a wonderful place and we look forward to returning."
