  • We will be back!

"My high school girlfriends and I stayed at Rutabaga, an absolutely charming place on Orcas Island, San Juan Islands, in Washington State. We totally enjoyed staying at the Bunk House and Boat Shed. The two buildings were filled with wonderful old artifacts from the fifties and earlier. (For the first hour we were there, I took many pictures of all the cool things!) The kitchen was on the side porch outside the Bunkhouse. There was a fire pit not far from the buildings for those who wanted to sit around the fire at night. The hosts were great! We had a very relaxing and fun time at this wonderful place."

  • Romantic Getaway

"My husband and I decided to go away for Valentine's weekend spur of the moment. I contacted Don, the owner, 2 weeks before and he responded quickly and got us all set up. We spent 3 lovely nights in the home. The accommodations were perfect. I loved the window seat that over looked the water, the amazing views from the kitchen, great room and opening my eyes each morning to the view in the master bedroom. We walked the beach and took the 10 min ferry to Lummi Island which was just minutes from the house. We were fortunate to have beautiful, sunny weather and also got to experience the fog roll in and out. This is a fabulous place to relax. And if you like to cook the kitchen is all set up for it. If this place accepted dogs we would come here regularly."

  • Great Cabin

"My husband, daughter and I stayed at the Wildwood cabin adjoining the Sea Spray Cottage for a week over the Christmas Holidays. We have stayed on Lopez for years as our favorite Seattle getaway, but this was our first time with this property. When we arrived the house was warm and cozy and the view was magnificent. The kitchen was well appointed with all the items we needed for farm fresh meals each day. The bed were soft and inviting and we could see the stars under the skylights at night. The beach was beautiful and our daughter enjoyed collecting little shiny rocks and driftwood. She also enjoyed exploring the gardens and playing on the large grassy lawn. We met the owners midway through our vacation. Michelle was so helpful with the booking and even brought us homemade cookies upon her arrival. We will definitely be back!"

  • Excellent house for groups

"We had a group of 10 stay here for Thanksgiving. Wow - we were impressed - it is a beautiful home!! It truly feels like a retreat, with gorgeous woods surrounding you, an incredible hot tub on the deck (with an awesome view), and a lovely fireplace. Location was convenient to Seattle, 10 minutes off I-5. Several of our group went on day-long hikes in the area, while others stayed at the house - it worked well for everyone's needs. Kara, the property manager, was very responsive, helpful, and thorough - a pleasure to work with. We would love to come back another year!"
