  • Outstanding place to stay on Orcas!

"My wife, two small sons, and I had a heck of a good time at this property for three nights at the height of the summer weekend. Book early for July and August! Just a terrific place to stay. No complaints at all. Great location within easy walking distance of the beach with the best sunsets on the island (Sunset Beach), full kitchen, a terrific bed as well as a sofa bed that also sleeps two. Surrounded by trees on three sides. Spotlessly clean and perfect for a family with small kids (i.e., no obvious lurking dangers). What more could I have asked for at a reasonable price a night?"

  • Better than we could have imagined

"We had seen the photos online and knew it was a beautiful cottage but it was so much better in person. Very comfortable inside and the fireplace was great. The covered porch was a wonderful place to relax and the view from the porch is so nice...garden, green house, and chicken coop. Hearing the frogs at night, so peaceful and quiet. The canoe ride on the pond was so much fun and the adirondack chairs waiting for us. My 5 year old daughter wanted to move in!"

  • Fantastic San Juan Island house

"This house and property are very special, clearly a beloved place to many people. We were here with two young children for five days in June and were very grateful to be in such a beautiful and thoughtfully created place. The house is wonderful, especially the dining room, living rooms and kitchen (full of great pottery), and the bedrooms have many nice features. I kept thinking of Anne of Green Gables or Anne of Avonlea, nostalgic and nourishing. Beautiful view from upstairs bedroom and lots of outdoor space and trails to run around and play. Wonderful Glen Gould records and interesting toys and objects all around. My only complaint: the two beds upstairs could have been softer/more comfortable, although my kids did not complain. Overall, a wonderful house and property for vacationing on San Juan Island."

  • Seclusion right in town!

"We've rented homes across this country and this is at the top of our list. Anacortes is a great jumping off point for San Juan Island adventures and staying at this 'cottage' makes it even more desirable. Read the other reviews - I don't want to repeat except to share that these were our favorites about the place: - Top notch, well-appointed kitchen - a must for those that love to cook like we do. - Nice wine glasses - seriously, I can't tell you how many places we've rented that don't offer these! There's even other bar ware for you mix-ologists. - Gorgeous views and private hot tub. - Comfy beds and a nice shower plus plenty of towels. - Conveniently located to anything you'd like to do from cycling to hiking and kayaking to shopping. - So lovely and homey you won't want to leave. A perfect rainy day place to curl up with a good book or your latest art project. - Nice communications from owner too. One thing to note (and it totally wasn't an issue for us) is that the bedrooms and main bath are located up a turning victorian house staircase. Good to know if someone in your party has mobility issues."
