  • Perfect Girls Weekend

"We rented this house out for a girls weekend (bachelorette) to be specific. The bride is a Whitman Alum and it was a PERFECT location for all we wanted to do. All the girls had a comfortable stay, many commented on a great night of sleep! The kitchen was the best part and obviously the hub of the home. We didn't do any cooking but looking around the kitchen we definitely could have. There was a few items which it needed in my opinion in the kitchen - tall water glasses. Other than that, plenty of wine glasses to accomodate the winery finds of the day! There is plenty of parking, walking distance to Bacon and Eggs for breakfast, about a 10 min walking distance to Safeway, and 15 mins to downtown E Main Street. Very very easy! I will absolutely be keeping the house in mind for future visits to Walla Walla."

  • Wonderful Weekend

"We stayed at Clara's Cottage for a 60th birthday celebration, and it was absolutely perfect! It was comfortable and roomy for our party of 5. We loved the location, as it was a short walk to restaurants and shops in the downtown area, but afforded a bit of exercise. Co-owner Cal was very helpful and prompt during the reservation process when we needed answers to questions. I highly recommend Clara's Cottage to groups traveling to Walla Walla, and would definitely stay there again. Many thanks!"

  • Perfect house in Walla Walla, close to town, quiet neighborhood

"The house was clean, the bathrooms were nice, the linens, the beds all nice and comfortable. The kitchen is dated but it had all the necessary appliances. Never did figure out how to use that old microwave. The dishes, glassware, all good. The location was fantastic, walking distance to town, short drive for dining and great indoor areas to sit, visit, read, gather. There are essentially 3 living rooms! Big dining room great outdoor spaces in yard and on patio, quite street, nice place overall and we would DEFINITELY return. There were 3 couples and one single and we all had our own rooms and baths. We range in age from 50-65."

  • Surprise 60th Birthday Bash

"We celebrated a surprise 60th birthday party for my wife at this venue. We had toured it two years ago with another couple when my wife casually mentioned we should have her birthday her in 2014. Of course she forgot that, but I remembered. The house is spectacular. With eight bedrooms plus sleeping for two in the guest house we had enough room for our little party of 17. My only regret was not understanding the bathroom situation better before all guests arrived. Upstairs there are two "Jack and Jill" bathrooms serving the six upstairs bedrooms. This was a bit awkward, as while there is other toilet rooms, there are not toilets with showers or tubs. Once we got everyone situated, all was well but some of the guests had to use a bathroom downstairs for showering. Woody, the main man at Basel Cellars, was absolutely incredible. He attended to our every need. He made the incredible event even more incredible. He even kept my wife's attention as the guests, some of whom had flown in from Boston, Austin, Denver and Sacramento, came out of the kitchen one by one...to huge squeals and exclamations from the birthday girl. The downstairs was put to great use as well. The pool table saw rousing games of eight ball. The adjacent stage witnessed bad karaoke. The theater room was the location where we all gathered to watch a video tribute to my wife put together by not only those in attendance, but by those who could not make it. All edited by my very talented graphic design daughter. All in all we had a MARVELOUS time."
