  • Loved it!

"The house was wonderful - had everything we needed. We had a two-year old with us, so brought a baby gate - and also used one that was already there. A beautiful, comfortable home that we'd love to visit again some day!"

  • Great Retreat!

"Mayfield Lake is wonderful and the Harmony Retreat offered an enjoyable spot to have fun. Brought jet ski to enjoy the lake and the community dock provided a great spot to spend the day. The home had all the amenities and the loft sleep area provided just the space to add something different for the teenager in the group. The deck was awesome to just relax and look out to the lake and the clear night sky."

  • Good Value

"We stayed here with some friends and really enjoyed our time. The cabin does have close neighbors but is very close to town and quick access to area recreation. The kitchen was fully stocked for any cooking you might do and even has a dishwasher. The only negative I can mention is the double bed upstairs is not comfortable, to the point where we chose to sleep on the floor with some blankets the 2nd night. Owner was very quick to respond to any questions and make the process very easy."

  • Mid-July stay

"We spent several days here in mid-July visiting family in Seattle and sightseeing and enjoyed the area immensely. The cabin has a nice deck and is clean. It's adequate to anyone's needs insofar as "base of operations" for whatever season-appropriate activity you may wish. The hot tub was great and the upstairs beds are comfortable. Do not expect "time-share-quality" furnishings and equipment though. It is furnished and equipped more in a family 'hand-me-down' style. While adequate, it is fairly Spartan should you find yourself caught indoors for more than a day. All-in-all, a great place to use as a home-base for enjoying the greater area and we would return here again."

Rainier & St. Helens Travel Tips

Relax and Unwind with Southwest Washington Vacation Rentals

The scenic area of southwest Washington offers breathtaking scenery, sandy beaches, small port towns and all the activities of the Northern Cascade Mountains close by. The area is known for its fertile estuaries and centuries-old landmarks. Charted by Meriwether Lewis and William Clark in 1805, southwest Washington was considered the most desirable area to settle west of the Rocky Mountains. It now offers a delightful escape from city life for vacationers looking to relax and enjoy the spectacular local scenery.

Washington Vacation Rentals Offer a Variety of Things to Do

The Columbia River offers a host of activities before it reaches the Pacific Ocean, including fishing, swimming and hiking. The Hoh Rain Forest has scenic drives and walks amidst the moss-covered trees and hikers will enjoy the trails around Ledbetter Point State Park. Visitors can rent a boat on Lake Quinault and spend the day fishing, picnicking and relaxing on the water. Wildlife viewing is also plentiful in this unspoiled area.

The whole coastline of southwest Washington has miles of sandy beaches to be enjoyed. Ocean Shores beach has many organized activities for families such as sandcastle competitions, summer festivals, beach buggy rentals, horseback riding, swimming, and the usual surfing and watersports activities. Walking and beachcombing are popular activities at spectacular Ruby Beach with its piles of driftwood. Whale watching is an exciting activity in this area, and many companies at Westport and Ocean Shores offer boat trips to see the Pacific grey whales which migrate along the coast from March to May. More family fun can be enjoyed at the indoor Hoquaim YMCA Waterpark which offers a lap pool and racquetball and basketball courts.
