"First, the location....very close to the entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park! It's a beautiful historic cabin that is much bigger than it looks. It's updated, with modern conveniences (nice big bathroom, washer & dryer, and comfortable beds) but still has the historic charm of an old house. It was very clean and had everything we needed... the bathroom was stocked with plenty of big fluffy towels and plenty of Airbonne toiletries, which was an extra nice touch. We were surprised (and happy!) to see a window a/c unit in the living room. It was quite warm while we were there and the a/c cooled down the whole 1st floor very nicely...including the master bedroom.
We did not use the one upstairs loft bedroom because it had a ladder to get up there and with small children, it was not a good idea. But the other room has a twin bed and a queen, so everyone slept in there and was quite comfortable. We had fans running to keep it cool up there.
One thing I must note: the cabin is very close to the road. This wasn't an issue at night because the traffic died done fairly early, but there was a lot of construction going on in the Park and the heavy construction trucks started down the road very, very early. If you are sleeping in the master bedroom, I would highly suggest bringing ear plugs and an eye mask. The only curtains are thin window sheers and the bright lights on the vehicles is almost blinding and the noise is quite loud.
A suggestion: Give a new sponge in the kitchen to every renter! There is no dishwasher (which is fine) but our sponge was still wet and moldy smelling from the previous renter. When we went to pull out a few glasses, they were not cleaned properly from the previous renter. Ok, I would just rewash them right? Wrong. The sponge was gross. Ended up washing them with a paper towel, putting them back and drinking out of my own plastic cups I had in the car. Small, but a super fixable issue.
Outside the home, we loved the hot tub, a few paths we could walk, and a wonderful dart board that my children loved. Parking was terrific and we loved having a level surface to easily get our bags into the house. Overall, wonderful!"
