  • Thanksgiving Family Getaway

"We spent the long Thanksgiving weekend here for a fun family getaway. My husband, brother-in-law, three kids (ages 6,3, and 1), dog and I had a wonderful time. The house is spacious and well-stocked with everything you could need. I made Thanksgiving dinner here and was very pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen had all the tools that I needed, they really thought of everything! My kids loved tromping around in the woods around the house and relaxing in the hot tub was the perfect end to every day. The fireplaces in the main living room and the master bedroom keep everything toasty and give the house a nice, cozy feel. The fact that the place is named "Moosewood Manor" is just icing on the cake! My kids really got a kick out of the name, as well as the moose décor, and were so sad to leave. The house is very kid-friendly: lots of kids board games, books, a baby gate, and a high chair were all provided. It was also nice to be able to have our dog with us. Because we were there on a cold/rainy winter weekend, we didn't really get out and explore as much as we would have liked to but we're already contemplating a return in the summer when we can enjoy Mt. Rainier and maybe take a day trip to St. Helens. Thanks for a memorable holiday weekend!"

  • Beautiful, well appointed "cabin"!

"To say this beautiful home is a cabin is an understatement. It's a well appointed, beautifully designed home in the woods. My husband and I spent 4 nights with 2 other couples in the Olmsted's cabin, with plenty of room to "breath", yet still be able to enjoy the common area as a group for games or watching movies. Amenities: Everything was as described, plus Marilyn has thought of everything you could want for cooking meals at in the great kitchen in the cabin. Maintenance/cleanliness: The cabin is very well taken care of and very clean Marilyn was extremely responsive to any questions or concerns that I had. Her typical response time via email was less than 2 hours. A couple of tips: * All 6 of us didn't have a single bar of cell service the entire time we were in Packwood (At&T and T-Mobile) - print your stay details out in advance so you don't have to rely on cell data! * Throw blankets are in the ottoman in the living room * The internet is a bit slow, especially if multiple devices are using it at once * There are 2 great trails directly behind the cabin In short, everyone loved the vacation and we'll definitely book the cabin in the future if we find ourselves considering the area."

  • Family ski trip

"Your home is beautiful, very well appointed, and exceptionally well laid out. While the skiing was"damp" this weekend, we all had a wonderful time and enjoyed the football game in your comfy great room. We would all recommend your home to anyone looking to enjoy the Mt. Rainier/White Pass area."

  • What a cabin should be!

"We had a great time at the cabin. The place is large, clean with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and an equipped kitchen. It is located 10 min. outside the Packwood center in a quiet forest packed with blackberries with a river nearby. The out tub on the deck was very welcome after long days on Mt Rainier and the garden was providing fresh veggies for our supper. A great place to stay, explore and relax."
