"My family and I enjoyed a wonderful three days and nights at the Bear Hideaway during a recent visit to Mount Rainier National Park. This particular cabin is set above Packwood about a 2-3 minute drive from the edge of town on Highway 12. It is set amongst other very nice cabins in a separate community. The cabin has very nice views and is remote enough to enjoy some quite time out on the porch or deck. They key pad made it simple and eliminated the need for keys. We really liked the wood paneling and carpentry work throughout the house. The décor was simple but not cluttered. The rooms were spacious and not cramped. The furniture was comfy but not worn. The towels and linens were very clean as were all of the bathrooms and kitchen. We had purchased our groceries beforehand in Portland at Costco and the local farmers market. If you need any items to cook with this cabin has a very good majority of them including most spices. If you plan on grilling you can bring your own lighter fluid and charcoal or they sell it at the local hardware store. I used the surrounding brush/limbs to start my fire combined with the smallest bag of charcoal. The WiFi was spotty on our trip but worked for the most part and it was at no fault to the owner, the cabin is in the mountains so we understood. If you are the type who gets cold and not patient enough to light a fire I would suggest bringing a heavy blanket. The heaters try their best to heat the space. The beds were a bit firm for my liking but you can't please everyone. No real complaints.
Thank you Bryan for sharing your well maintained cabin!"

"This is an excellent house for large groups. It only missed an excellent rating because the living room was rather small and it had a "somewhat inaccessible" bedroom upstairs. The dining area and table were great, but the living room was too small for a large group to congregate. The upstairs bedroom is only accessible through the upstairs bathroom. If someone is in the bathroom you are stuck in the bedroom until they are finished.
All in all, this is a great house and we would rent it again in a heartbeat.
p.s., no pets, even well behaved pets."

"We took our granddaughters, ages 4 & 9, for an overnight stay in this tipi. The property manager was very responsive to questions prior to our arrival. Everything we needed for a great outdoor experience was there, without the sleeping-on-the-ground part. The bathroom was clean, the beds were comfortable and the cooking station had even more supplies than we expected. The hot tub was a big hit too. Access to the fruit and vegetables (peas and strawberries-yum) growing in the garden was a nice touch as well. We'll be back!!"

"This cabin feels like home the 5 days. The cabin have all the accommodations and convenient of home but with the view of Mount Rainier in the background. The place is conveniently located to packwood, and near a market. You can get all the ingredients for cooking while staying there, making this truly a home away from home. It is only 20 minutes away from Mount rainier and an hour away from Mount St. Helen.
Marily made the booking, checking in, and checking out very smoothly. Better than staying at a 5 star resort for a much lower price."
