  • Great Getaway!

"We had a great time here. The location is great right next to the slopes. The room was beautiful. It was nice, quiet and equipment for our needs. I loved the fact it had fans, alarm clocks, and kitchen utensils. Any cons I saw was the tv in the first bedroom is very fuzzy I think the cord from cable needs replaced. The wifi is horrible but on mountain I guess it couldn't be that great. If there was a broom I would have swept the kitchen. But over all it was very enjoyable:)"

  • Fern Creek 2 bedroom

"I totally enjoyed my stay at the Fern Creek Cabins. The wife and I would set on the porch in the early mornings and evenings and watch deer, turkey and even bear cross the property. Very secluded and secure, no problems with in and out traffic or lost people finding there way there. Excellent for "off the grid" vacation seekers. There is no cable(DVD player), no internet and limited cell service (wife had it, I didnt). The cabin is a large enough for two couples or a small family. Its a little dated but was excellent for rural vacationing. The outside area was very well maintained by the young lady grounds keeper. She was outstanding and very helpful. Lots of room for outside entertaining for even large crowds (10-20 people). Far enough off the beaten path that loud music and fun will not bother anyone, unless the other cabin is occupied. The two cabins are about 80-100 yards apart. The road in and out is a well maintained gravel road. No problems for 4 wheel vehicles but I would only recommend experienced riders attempt it on a motorcycle. If you take children, there is little for them to stay occupied with except good old fashion playing. You are only minutes from the New River Gorge Bridge, downtown Fayetteville with nice eating establishment and evening entertainment. Walmart Super Center is 15 miles away for the things you may have forgotten to pack. Would recommend it????? I will attempt to go back sometime next year (subject to avialability). That should say enough."

  • peace and serenity and beauty

"We stayed in this cabin 4th of July week. It was perfect for our needs. We wanted to be close to the Greenbrier River Trail, and we wanted quiet and solitude and beautiful nature. This cabin gave it in spades. You definitely need 4WD to get to it, and getting out to open and close 2 barnyard gates every time was a little bit of a hassle. But we felt it was worth it for the beautiful setting the cabin was in. It was amazing! It was down in the forest next to the beautiful river, and the trail was right there. The cabin was very nice, clean, and comfortable. No TV channels but a TV for games/videos. No cell phone service but a land line at the house for emergencies. I would definitely recommend this property to my friends or relatives. The owner was very helpful when we called. We enjoyed doing the walking tour of Lewisburg, touring Organ Cave, Beartown State Park, riding our bikes and hiking. One of our favorite places to hike was Brooks Arboretum. There were some beautiful trails there, the rhododendron was in full bloom and we had gorgeous weather. Another place we enjoyed hiking was Cranberry Glades."

  • Great place to get away from it all

"The property is clean and spacious. It has a nice, roomy kitchen, It is only five minutes off of Rt 50-the main thoroughfare through this part of West Va. It is near outdoor fun on the cacapon river and the south branch potomac river. While only five minutes away-from the highway it seems worlds away perched high on top of an isolated mountain ridge with a private lane in a gated community. It was great to walk on the lightly travelled access roads nearby and see 35 deer in one evening. No Wi-fi or TV-but only a few minutes from the library Wi-FI is in town. The owner is very accomodating. Nice little restaurant for breakfast-Belle Mountain on 50 five minutes away. Enjoyed our stay."
