  • Incredible!

"Let me just start out by saying that not a week goes by that those of us who stayed here don't talk about how awesome of a place this is! The home is large, comfortable, and fits a large group nicely (there were 10 of us). The property and view are absolutely incredible. We couldn't get enough of sitting on the back porch and enjoying the wonderful mountain breeze while roasting smores in the awesome outdoor stone fireplace. The owners were an absolute pleasure to deal with and went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. We cannot wait to get back to this little dream cabin in the mountains!"

  • Canine Haven for the Eagles!

"We stayed at the Eagle's Haven in Feb 2014. Though some of our group couldn't make it at the last minute, even if they had - this house would still have been more than we needed! We loved the spacious rooms.. Open living room/dining/kitchen area surrounded by the wonderful gated deck. The canines loved sunbathing in that deck while we enjoyed the hot tub, though we thought something to block the almost constant breeze from chilling you so much while in the hot tub would have made it feel warmer. Brr! Loved the grill on the deck right outside from the kitchen. We thought about making a fire in the fire ring, but it was a bit chilly and damp to gather wood. Better instructions, maybe a diagram, to figure out how to turn the shower on in the downstairs bathroom would have helped a great deal too. The coffee pot leaked when we first used it, and the new one was delivered the next morning. (We informed them about midday/evening time.) The downstairs movie viewing and upstairs gaming time were both hits! People and canines all had a great time! Hope we get the chance to stay again! And maybe next time we will make it to the ponds, (signs showing which way to go would help.. Though the slick roads would have kept us either way I think.) The grill on the deck near the kitchen was nice too. Great views. Wish there was more snow. We all hope to have a return trip to Eagle's Haven. It's more house than we need, though it was great to take the whole family. (Canines =D )"

  • Wonderful Family Ski Chalet

"Let me start by saying that the home owner, Suzanne, was wonderful and easy to work with. That alone makes the vacation experience that much better. My family set out to find a house within walking distance of the slopes at Timberline. This chalet was perfect. We could walk down the hill and past the condos to the base of Salamander in about 60 seconds. Furthermore, we could ski down either Salamander or any combination of slopes from the top to White Out and walk down hill back to the house in the same 60 seconds. My 6 year old did not once complain about the distance and we made several trips to and from the house each day. In many cases, you couldn't park your car at the lodge and walk a shorter distance. Inside the house you will find a charming, unique design suitable for a small to mid size group. We had 4 adults, 1 child and an infant. We were very comfortable. The kitchen is the highlight of the house. It is beautiful and very functional. Our favorite touch was the sleigh used as a pan holder from the ceiling. Both the upstairs and downstairs living areas were very comfortable and the hot tub is a perfect end to a long day of skiing. There is also a separate ski entrance that has both inside and outside ski racks. It was nice being able to store our gear out of the way of everything else. Overall, our experience was top notch. I would certainly stay in this house again and absolutely recommend it to those looking for a great value that is nearly ski in/ski out. Todd W."

  • Perfect location!

"We arrived late on a snowy night with no problems thanks to a great lighted sign in front of this secluded lodge. In less than 10 minutes, we were out the door and in the Snowshoe general parking lot. The house was well-equipped with anything we needed during our ski vacation, including a Crock Pot that is perfect for having a hot pot of soup ready after a long day skiing. We also took a quick drive five miles down to the road to the quaint Cass Railroad town, and are looking forward to trying the Greenbrier River Trail on a future trip. The property owners called to check in and were beyond hospitable and helpful during our stay. A great place far enough away from it all to relax but close enough to enjoy!"
