"Another great visit! We have had members of our group stay in both of the owners houses. Never a problem and they have always been wonderful and receptive answering any questions. Great family environment right on the hill. Ski in ski out all day long. We'll be back for thirdsies!"

"We got there after dark and had a hard time finding the place since we weren't given a map. The lock on the door took a bit to figure out- instructions would have been nice. The room was good space though the half bath and bunk beds were a bit tight. Wifi was good but couldn't quite figure out the TV remotes. Room was clean and water tasted good. Kitchen was complete. Would stay here again."

"We stayed here in August 2014 and had a wonderful experience and perfect weather. When the rest of the state was baking in the August heat, we were wearing long sleeves & jeans. We loved the location of this community, the quietness of the area, the porch swing, watching the occasional plane take off and land from the porch was a new and exciting experience. The cottage is beautiful and rustic, and the interior woodwork is charming and beautiful. I wish we could live there! We loved watching the stars from the hot tub, as well as watching the morning fog over the valley from the comfort of the hot tub. my 4 year old daughter loved this experience.
This was a multi-generations getaway, with family ranging from 4 to 76 years in age, and we all enjoyed it. The stairs were too steep for the oldest int he bunch to traverse, so we gave him the master suite on the first floor. We visit Canaan Valley at least once a year in the summer, and we will be back again next year! My 4 year old daughter renamed the cottage "Blue Berry Cottage," and still asks all the time is we can go back."

"My 3 daughters, 2 granddaughters, and I stayed at Lazy Day River Retreat when we visited Berkley Springs. The house was wonderful! Three nicely furnished bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds refreshed us each night. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need and was clean, clean, clean. Friday we went to Cacapon State Park and rode horses and when we got back to the house we climbed into the hot tub to relax our tired muscles. It was super clean with no strong smell of chemicals and just the right temperature. We sat there, talked, and enjoyed the views of nature. Saturday it rained most of the day BUT we found Downton Abbey in the extensive video library--there's something for everyone and lots of new releases. Someone finally pried the control from my hand and we left Downton for Grand Torino. Ate at the Panorama Restaurant and returned for another session in the hot tub and a cozy fire in the fireplace. Did I tell you how much I enjoyed the hot tub? The house is in a private neighborhood with very few neighbors, an extremely large lot with pawpaw trees and a wrap-a-round deck with table, chairs and, yes, a great hot tub! I like to go barefooted in the house and the carpets were clean and super soft! The hardwood floors were shiny and smooth but not slippery. If you are going to the state park from the house, take Cold Valley Road--it is a scenic shortcut. I can't wait to go back!"
