"When we started looking for a place to go for our anniversary we only had a very limited list of must haves. One was someplace we could take our dogs, have a hot tub, and be away from a lot of people. We were blown away with how great this place was. It was very clean and well taken care of. It was very nice having an ice maker that could keep up. The newer kitchen appliances were great. The Cuisinart ice cream maker will definitely get used the next time. We hadn't even left and were planning our return trip! The directions were great for getting there too. Unfortunately for us we followed our GPS though and it was off a few houses and it took us in different from the directions. It was easily corrected though by driving just a little further down. We enjoyed the cat that came to visit from next door but she didn't seem to understand when why we wouldn't invite her in. We tried explaining that there were no cats allowed! She didn't seem to mind the dogs at all either. It was nice sitting in the hot tub and watching the deer go through the woods. I can't wait to go back again!"

"The Old Homestead was a wonderful respite from our busy Washington Metro area lives. It is just a short drive but a world away. The house itself was very comfortable and full of character, a real treat all by itself. This is a great place for history buffs and those looking for an escape.
The owner has thought of everything - she even had special towels for the dog! We especially enjoyed the bird feeder on the back patio and the histories of the house and Berkeley Springs, as well as the mown grass path to the pond. A list of of activities in the area for Memorial Day weekend was left for us on the kitchen table. We enjoyed the crafts sale on the grounds of the Springs, as well as the farmer's market. Thank you for a lovely visit!"

"The pictures don't do justice, the cabin is beautiful and cozy. Patio view allows a scenic look out over the mountain. It's a great place to get away from the world and relax. Also near by is Berkeley Springs which I had no idea is a pretty popular tourist area. Many things were provided that I didn't expect also, such as fire wood and charcoal."

"What does a city girl need in the middle of winter?? A weekend getaway with her three girlfriends to the beautiful mountains of West Virginia! Our stay at the Jack Russells Ridge was amazing! This warm and cozy cabin had everything we could need and more for our weekend trip to Berkeley Springs. Clean and comfortable, we enjoyed watching movies and playing games while watching the snow fall as we unwound from our busy, hectic lives. We hope to return in the summer when it is warmer and can enjoy the many outdoor activities the area has to offer. We highly recommend!"
