"I've stayed at this cabin several times and always enjoy coming to the area. Our favorite things to do:
- Soak away our worries in the hot tub.
- Make s'mores by the campfire
- Marvel at how many stars you can see in the sky
- Relax away from the city
- Explore the woods, the creek, and run around the ball park with our dog
- Go whitewater rafting in Harper's Ferry, bike the C&O towpath, walk through the PawPaw tunnel.
- Soak in the baths and get a massage at Berkeley Springs State Park
- Swim in the neighborhood lake
- Sit, eat, and drink on the screened-in porch
- Play table-top shuffleboard in the game room
- Play the piano in the loft
- Family game night by the wood stove
There is plenty to do in the area or sometimes we just hang out all weekend long in the comfortable relaxing cabin."

"My 3 daughters, 2 granddaughters, and I stayed at Lazy Day River Retreat when we visited Berkley Springs. The house was wonderful! Three nicely furnished bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds refreshed us each night. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly need and was clean, clean, clean. Friday we went to Cacapon State Park and rode horses and when we got back to the house we climbed into the hot tub to relax our tired muscles. It was super clean with no strong smell of chemicals and just the right temperature. We sat there, talked, and enjoyed the views of nature. Saturday it rained most of the day BUT we found Downton Abbey in the extensive video library--there's something for everyone and lots of new releases. Someone finally pried the control from my hand and we left Downton for Grand Torino. Ate at the Panorama Restaurant and returned for another session in the hot tub and a cozy fire in the fireplace. Did I tell you how much I enjoyed the hot tub? The house is in a private neighborhood with very few neighbors, an extremely large lot with pawpaw trees and a wrap-a-round deck with table, chairs and, yes, a great hot tub! I like to go barefooted in the house and the carpets were clean and super soft! The hardwood floors were shiny and smooth but not slippery. If you are going to the state park from the house, take Cold Valley Road--it is a scenic shortcut. I can't wait to go back!"

"My wife, dog, and I thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at The Old Homestead. The house is full of history! Kitchen is well stocked, we brought our Thanksgiving Day leftovers down and had no problem properly reheating everything and the refrigerator is spotless. The entire property is very well kept and maintained. We stayed for the weekend and checked out Berkeley Springs as well as Shepherdstown. We ate at Public Lot 12 (just a few minutes from the house) our final night and definitely recommend this restaurant to others too try. Fun area and Sallie's Homestead is a short trip to everything. Would recommend this place!"
