  • Weekend Getaway

"Had a wonderful time. Accomodated 3 families with ease (13 total). The house has lots of charm and character. Great rocks right up the road to climb around. The kids loved feeding the horses carrots and apples. Great time making smores around the outdoor firepit and playing horeshoes. Great books and games for all to enjoy. Couldn't get all the jets to work on jacuzzi but still great looking up at the stars. Went for a bluegrass festival that we didn't fully attend because we were all completely content staying back at the "ranch". Made good use of the two grills available. We all will defnitley come back."

  • Excellent experience!

"My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway to celebrate his retirement and we found the perfect location! This farmhouse has been remodeled with every modern convenience, yet done in such a way as to not detract from the beauty of its historic personality. Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, we were drawn into the family legacy through the written accounts of generations past who lived here. We had a wonderful time relaxing, reading in the hammock or on the porch, watching the birds at the feeder (LOVED the goldfinch!), going into Berkeley Springs for meals and sightseeing (such a great connection with George Washington!), driving to Paw Paw for a scenic ride then learning about the amazing tunnel dug for the C&O Canal. This was a great fit for our love of history and desire for a relaxing getaway. Sally was helpful and attentive in making our stay perfect. Beautiful scenery, wildlife, peaceful and secluded, yet so close to town. Love it!!!"

  • Beautiful!

"Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with our family! The cabin was exceptionally clean and well maintained. The property surrounding the cabin was also very well maintained. We were very impressed with the cabin and also with the owner, Joe, who gave us very detailed directions and also met us in town to take us directly to the cabin. Once at the cabin, he took the time to show us around and also told us about local attractions. We would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone and plan on staying again soon."

  • Close to it all and cozy

"Us group of co-workers stayed here early in 2014. There were 5 in our party, so the sleeping arrangements worked out perfect. We had one couple (they got the big bed) then two women shared the dual twin room and the lone guy took the double. Worked out just fine. Plenty of room, and quiet in the rooms if you wanted to sneak away for a cat nap. This place, as with any place you stay has its pros and cons. We were very happy with the location, as it is seriously right across the street from the heart of the Village (shuttle service, restaurants, & lift ticket pick up are all right there! Very nice). You do have to climb/decend a lengthy staircase though (which can be difficult in ski boots) or wait approx 15-25 minutes for a shuttle pick up. We were a little bummed when we arrived as there were dirty dishes in the cabinet and no dishwasher detergent or parking passes left for us (a skillet had scrambled eggs crust all over it, like it used and put back without a bit of cleaning). However, after a phone call to the owner, we were stocked up with soap and parking passes. The decor is homey, and I would say everyone was plenty cozy (that new gas fireplace really cranks out the heat). The kitchen is nice and updated, yet the dishwasher did not clean as well as one should (maybe that was the reason the skillet was still dirty). The sauna was a nice bonus too if you want to warm up after a day on the slopes. And the view is as good as advertised. One of the best sunsets I've seen in West Virginia! Lastly, I would like to re-iterate how helpful the owners were throughout the process. They were quick to respond to emails, easy to pay, & on the ball with resupply when housekeeping dropped the ball. Additionally, Jim ended up finding an overcharge for our stay after we left and refunded the amount without us even knowing there was an overcharge. First rate all the way."
