"Secluded enough for privacy, yet not hard to get to. Had the feel of a rustic cabin with all the modern conveniences. Was greeted by 2 deer walking across the drive. Inviting front porch and back deck with hot tub. Cabin was cozy and comfortable with plenty of room. Owner is easy to deal with and responsive to calls and emails."

"A true Oasis of Beauty and Relaxation
This cabin possesses the rare combination of rusticity and urbanity. It is warm, homey and pastoral while possessing the sophistication and all the conveniences of a city home. Moreover, the location is ideal, nestled among trees and across from a pasture of rollicking horses who seem to enjoy providing live entertainment as one sips their favorite beverage on the splendid wrap around deck or cooks a favorite meal on the gas grill.
Inside this very clean, cozy and tastefully appointed cabin one finds a functional and well stocked kitchen, large dining table, a comfortable living area with a stone fireplace and flat screen television. The master bedroom is a good size with a closet and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is large and has a washer and dryer. The loft is quaint with a futon bed and two bunk beds and a closet. The AC and heating were easy to use and efficient. In short, this cabin had everything we needed for our wonderful mini-vacation.
The location is also perfect for all that the Canaan Valley has to offer. The Black Bear property and grounds are well maintained providing the amenities described.
We were sent thorough and easy instructions for our pre-rrival, stay and departure. The owner/rental manager was extremely professional and accommodating, responding quickly to our emails and needs. Truly excellent service with a personal touch.
I would highly recommend this property for a couple or family looking for a rustic getaway with all the conveniences of a city home. In short, this is a wonderful, clean and very comfortable cabin in a terrific location. We can’t wait to return!"

"Thank you Frank. Great place! Beautiful home, and incredibly quiet. We enjoyed family dinners at the big dining room table, were able to visit as we cooked those meals in the open kitchen, and as we relaxed on the big wrap-around couch watching movies and listening to the crackle of the fireplace. We loved the decks - we did yoga and boot camp on the big downstairs deck and watched the sunset on the cozy upstairs deck. We took the dogs out on the trail that was literally RIGHT ACROSS THE ROAD in to the Monongahela National Forest. And the Eagle's Nest-so great. Beautiful views, and our daughter loved being up there. And getting in to and out of the house was very easy. Thanks again for facilitating a great week-end at a great place!"
