  • Wooded Oasis

"My husband and I spent eight days at Oakhill cottage. It is so relaxing. While it was mostly the two of us, there is plenty of room for a family. What i really liked was all of the different sitting areas for eating, there are four. The best is the back deck. You feel like you are in a giant tree house. It is so very special. The cottage has everything you could possibly think of respective to the basics and more .And the beds are so comfortable. The pools in the complex are wonderful. It is an easy day or even half of day trip to Berkley Springs, a cute historic town with world famous springs as well as Hancock, Maryland where the C&O and rails to trails bike trails are, spectacular bike trails. There is a wonderful farm market in Hedgesville as well. Helene, the owner is a peach to work with. Cannot say enough. We would love to return if possible."

  • Wonderful week

"We just returned from a great, relaxing week of kayaking and fishing on the lake. We also used the cabin as a jumping off point for tubing in Harpers Ferry, cave exploring in Virginia, and sightseeing in Washington, DC. We would recommend this cabin to anyone, and look forward to visiting again."

  • Weekend Getaway

"Had a wonderful time. Accomodated 3 families with ease (13 total). The house has lots of charm and character. Great rocks right up the road to climb around. The kids loved feeding the horses carrots and apples. Great time making smores around the outdoor firepit and playing horeshoes. Great books and games for all to enjoy. Couldn't get all the jets to work on jacuzzi but still great looking up at the stars. Went for a bluegrass festival that we didn't fully attend because we were all completely content staying back at the "ranch". Made good use of the two grills available. We all will defnitley come back."

  • hot tub and view are amazing

"There were aspects of this place that were AMAZING and others that were so-so. There's no oven, just a toaster-oven, but there's a grill on the porch. There's no comfortable table inside (just a tall table with stools) but there's a nice table on the deck. The bed we slept in (the downstairs one near the bathroom) was not comfortable. The other bed was up in the top of the A-frame (two steep flights of stairs from the bathroom - not fun if you need it at night). There's no bathtub, but a REALLY nice rain-shower. There's no wi-fi, but that was actually a plus for us. AND, the hot tub and view were awesome, awesome, AWESOME, the place was clean and quiet and definitely felt "away" but was only about 15 min from Berkeley Springs. I think we'd go back as long as the weather was mild enough to use the deck, grill and hot tub."
