"Thank you Gayle and Sam! Your cabin retreat is in a perfect location, private and met every wish we hoped for! We loved hiking your property and the surrounding areas! Sitting by the firepit and relaxing in the hot tub were added bonuses! Roxy and Beau had a great time too and enjoyed all the streams, wildlife and checking out the cows. We will recommend your place to others and hope to return soon! It was hard to return to Northern Virginia traffic today:-("

"Our family had a great time at Whitetail Lodge. The house was large enough to accommodate our large family. We loved the theater room and the fact that you could close the french doors and it contained the noise so the babies could take their naps peacefully. The house is only one mile from Snowshoe- and Snowshoe has SO much to do in the summer! Our kids had a blast. It was also a short drive to go down to Marlinton and rent kayaks and kayak on the Greenbrier. Cass Railroad is also just a few miles away. The hot tub worked perfectly and was a hit. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. Everyone in our group commented on how comfortable the beds were also. We will definitely return!"

"We just returned from an amazing time at this chalet. As everyone else mentioned, the views can't be beat! The deck, hot tub, and view are perfect, and we loved how quiet it was there. The inside was very comfortable also. We barely used the living area, but the couch seemed comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed, and I was grateful for the thorough and accurate descriptions of what we'd find so we knew what to take with us...and take what you need because it's a trip to get to a grocery store. The downstairs bed was comfortable and the bathroom was as nice as described. Erika and Tim were extremely responsive before our stay and also when we had trouble locating something in the chalet. They contacted us right away to make sure everything was good. We went during the week, which made it especially quiet on the mountain. We didn't see anyone on our hikes, and The Woods golf course was pretty empty and a great deal...lunch there was good also if you don't want to fix all your own meals. As others mentioned, I wouldn't want to share this space with anyone who wasn't a close friend or family because the bedroom areas aren't very private, but it could be great for a family as long as you don't have young kids (the stairs are steep). As described, there's no internet (which makes it more of a getaway), and our phones (Verizon) didn't work well either, but good enough to get a call or email out when we needed...with a little patience. This is a true getaway, and we had to extend our stay by a day because we really didn't want to leave! Thanks for sharing your little piece of heaven."
