"This was a surprise birthday weekend getaway gift for my better half. Was exactly what we was looking for. It was away from everything but not too far so if we needed anything it was a 15 minute drive or so to Walmart. I truly enjoyed the Hot Tub with it's amazing view of the fall foliage. We plan on staying here again in the spring/summer."

"This beautiful cabin was completely private. The sounds of the birds and the creek drained the stress from both my wife and I. You feel like you`re in the middle of nowhere while being only a couple of miles from all the amenities you might need/want. My wife and I enjoy peace and quiet along with sightseeing. The cabin and the nearby town of Hinton offer this. For anyone interested in more adventurous activities, West Virginia must be a paradise for those people. I was born and raised in Scotland and it reminded me of home except for the fact there are more trees here :) The people we met were extremely friendly and it is such a laid back way of life down there.
The owners thought of pretty much everything to make your stay comfortable and there is absolutely no doubt we will be returning in the future to this cabin. One thing we liked was the fact the owners are easy to contact, if needed but didn't once intrude on our holiday. Complete peace and privacy. We have travelled a lot throughout the years but this was the first time we were actually emotional about leaving somewhere."

"As a former resident of Marlinton. I can't say enough of what a wonderful place it is to go back and visit. Especially staying at Nola's House. Knowing the owner so well because we knew each other as children growing up and going to school together. It's like turning the clock back 50+ years. Reliving great memories from the past. A place you can call home. And people you can call family."

"I was pleasantly impressed by this house at The Woods. I walked all over the community with my dog and found it peaceful, well maintained and the few people I encountered very friendly. The house is well equipped and comfortable. It was too hot the first few days to use the back deck but we did enjoy it when the weather cooled down. Like another reviewer, we also had money stolen out of both of our cars. We took the isolation for granted to mean that it was safe! Helene was each to reach, easy to work with, and very helpful. When I let her know the grill was having problems she ordered a new one and had it delivered the next day! The kitchen cupboards could use a little editing, (there is not a lot of space to store food) but the kitchen is well equipped and easy to work in. The living space is very comfortable to hang out in and the bedrooms were very nice. Very peaceful setting."
