"This "For Sale" rental is 20+ years old, despite the image taken when it was first built. The fireplace doesn't work, and the owner said he won't invest money in a house for sale.
There is no hot tub, which is crucial for performance snow sports. There is one small bathtub in the house + 3 little showered bathrooms.
Most everything in the Kitchen is broken or falling apart. We couldn't cook unless we microwaved. The grocery store is 45 minutes away. It's a 30 minute drive [add $15 to parking at Silver Creek.]
This house is TOO FAR from the slopes, despite marketing.
The owner does not provide a lan line phone or working wi-fi password, so communications with the outside world was impossible because you can't get cell service anywhere. This would've been good to know ahead of time.
My nephew & family left very frustrated 100% because of the owner's lack of communications; we couldn't call make reservations, get the status of tubing, etc. When you're 30 minutes one way from it all, you NEED a working phone. And there's nothing but a gas station & real estate companies at the base of Snowshoe mountain.
All restaurants, food, etc. are at the top of Snowshoe - 30 minutes away. You need to take all backup gear, etc. with you; you're too far away to go back for anything you forgot due to the long drive. You're definitely away from the hustle and bustle...
There is a wonderful laundry room at the entrance for you to take off your wet gear & place it directly in the dryer, but there are no racks to safely set your ski's or snowboards. The owner wants you to leave those outside apparently, but this wasn't communicated anywhere.
There is NO communication from the owner. He never provided the wi-fi password despite my requests for it upfront. He was on vacation and unreachable during our stay. When he finally answered my email messages, he responded "Call me with any questions". Are you kidding me? And how does one make that phone call? He doesn't provide a LAN line. There is NO cell service there. So how precisely does one call the owner with questions? It's unprofessional to not answer phone calls or email messages."
