  • Great ski in/out location - comfortable condo

"For a first timer at Snowshoe I was very pleased with my stay at the Mountain Lodge. Upon arrival the attendant working the front gate was very friendly and very helpful with providing general information about the area. Check in was very easy and with the room being on the far end of the building, unloading and loading was rather easy. As others have said, there is a very nice view looking off of the balcony. I'm sure that during the Fall season it would be absolutely beautiful! The unit was very clean and stocked well with dishes and everything else that was needed. Room also and a Play Station 2 with some DVDs and games if you were to be in the room killing some time. As someone stated in a previous review, the unit does get somewhat hotter than what the thermostat is set for. The lodge is set closely to the Ballhooter lift which makes it very convenient if you need to run in to the room for anything. It's also a quick walk over the Village. Overall our experience was very good and I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone looking to get away for a weekend. Tim seems very nice and his email with instructions are very informational as well as humorous!"

  • great family ski condo

"Our family of six was very comfortable here, and with the shuttle service stopping right in front of the building, it's incredibly convenient. For those who are familiar with Snowshoe, this is a lot of space for the money. You can do newer, nicer and closer, but the cost difference is significant and the size difference as well. We come to ski, and with four kids and all of the required gear, we value comfort and square footage over all. It was clean and well equipped, has been updated somewhat and the beds seemed new and very comfortable. The daily visits from the nearly tame deer and the sunset views are hard to beat. The owner is easy to work with and got our deposit back quickly. We'd definitely consider this condo for our next trip."

  • Too far from Snowshoe

"This "For Sale" rental is 20+ years old, despite the image taken when it was first built. The fireplace doesn't work, and the owner said he won't invest money in a house for sale. There is no hot tub, which is crucial for performance snow sports. There is one small bathtub in the house + 3 little showered bathrooms. Most everything in the Kitchen is broken or falling apart. We couldn't cook unless we microwaved. The grocery store is 45 minutes away. It's a 30 minute drive [add $15 to parking at Silver Creek.] This house is TOO FAR from the slopes, despite marketing. The owner does not provide a lan line phone or working wi-fi password, so communications with the outside world was impossible because you can't get cell service anywhere. This would've been good to know ahead of time. My nephew & family left very frustrated 100% because of the owner's lack of communications; we couldn't call make reservations, get the status of tubing, etc. When you're 30 minutes one way from it all, you NEED a working phone. And there's nothing but a gas station & real estate companies at the base of Snowshoe mountain. All restaurants, food, etc. are at the top of Snowshoe - 30 minutes away. You need to take all backup gear, etc. with you; you're too far away to go back for anything you forgot due to the long drive. You're definitely away from the hustle and bustle... There is a wonderful laundry room at the entrance for you to take off your wet gear & place it directly in the dryer, but there are no racks to safely set your ski's or snowboards. The owner wants you to leave those outside apparently, but this wasn't communicated anywhere. There is NO communication from the owner. He never provided the wi-fi password despite my requests for it upfront. He was on vacation and unreachable during our stay. When he finally answered my email messages, he responded "Call me with any questions". Are you kidding me? And how does one make that phone call? He doesn't provide a LAN line. There is NO cell service there. So how precisely does one call the owner with questions? It's unprofessional to not answer phone calls or email messages."

  • MLK Weekend

"We had a wonderful experience. The owner was always prompt to respond to questions and was even so kind to purchase a crockpot for the condo for us to use. It was nice having dinner ready to go after a day on the slopes! We really appreciated him doing that so we didn't have to bring our own. Given that it was a holiday weekend, there were lots of people staying in the building itself so it was a little noisier than we would have liked. There's a 10 pm "quiet rule," but sometimes people don't abide by it. The condo is near the arcade but we never heard noise from that-just noise from people in the hall. The condo's location is ideal. Very convenient to the Village, the pools, the provisions store and equipment rental. It was nice having a TV in the bedroom, too. The pots and pans weren't the best as the non-stick is starting to show wear, but I wasn't expecting high-end cookware. If you're a gourmet cook planning on staying a full week you may want to bring your own favorite pot or pan. Otherwise for a few days, the cookware is perfectly fine and almost everything you need is on hand. If you do cook and have leftovers, bring some containers for those. The owners seem to be very conscientious about keeping the place up and were absolutely wonderful to rent from! Tremendously helpful with information about the building, amenities, local interests, ski rentals, etc. You can tell they want you to enjoy your stay. We'll hope to stay there again and recommend it to others."
