"We spent 3 days here in early March and skied at Timberline and Canaan Valley. The cabin was the highlight of our trip. It is outstandingly well furnished and very well stocked with everything we could have needed. The cabin is beautifully furnished with lots of personal touches. The hot tub on the deck was wonderful after a day of skiing! The internet worked fine. Cell phone service was sketchy at the cabin. We found access to both ski areas easy from this location, and the cabin is very private with a lovely woodsy setting. Adam was wonderful about responding to any need and very responsive to our making reservations at "the last minute". He was also very prompt on return of the damage deposit. We would definitely choose to stay here again when we return to this area summer or winter! Thanks for a wonderful stay!"

"My family of four plus two friends stayed for four nights during a spring break ski trip. The two king beds and the very hot jacuzzi / hot tub were the highlights of the stay. The four of us that slept on the king beds loved it, the two in the pull out would have liked a more comfortable mattress. We made all of our meals in the kitchen, and relaxed in the couches and chairs to watch movies on the big screen, and enjoyed to hot tub.
The advanced skiers could walk to the Soaring Eagle lift (or catch the short shuttle), while the beginners felt more comfortable driving or catching the shuttle to the main area.
The elevators made it easy to bring luggage up and down. The ski storage room made it very easy to store skis and boots. We also had plenty of coat racks and closets to hang gear and store clothes. The bathrooms were nice as well.
Overall we were really pleased with our stay! Dave was very quick to respond to emails and refund the deposit, plus the door code (vs key) made it easy to walk right into the room after a long drive. We highly recommend this location!!"

"This cabin is exactly as described! It's well located, cozy, clean and comfortable. The property manager sent us thorough and easy instructions for our pre-arrival, stay and departure. The kitchen was very functional and well stocked with everything we needed. The fireplace was great and the upstairs bedroom/loft was perfect for our boys (equipped with tv, dvd and gaming system). The cabin was very clean when we arrived and had plenty of space for 4 people + our dog (and dog crate). The Black Bear property and grounds are well maintained and an easy 10 minute drive to the Timberline ski area. The rental manager was also extremely accommodating and responsive to our emails and needs. I would highly recommend this property for a couple or family looking for a getaway with more space and amenities than a typical hotel."

Pretty good. Poor water pressure/toilet problems though.
"Overall it was ok. Cute little cabin. Hot tub was nice. The biggest issue we had was with the toilets. I don't know if it was water pressure or something wrong with the fill lines, but the toilets took like 30 min to fill. Both upstairs and down. They would make running/spitting noise but you never fill up. Once or twice they filled up nice and I could tell the pressure was better from the other faucets, but the rest of the time, it was super low and they didn't fill right. I opened the top to take a look and when it wasn't working, water wasn't able to come up through the host to the fill tube. It sputtered and dribbled and spit. the house was cozy and warm. Other than that, the fireplace was nice and could burn you outta there if you wanted it to. Upstairs got to hot with that as the house heat source. Downstairs was great. Nice that dogs were allowed. Worked out well."
