"A true Oasis of Beauty and Relaxation
This cabin possesses the rare combination of rusticity and urbanity. It is warm, homey and pastoral while possessing the sophistication and all the conveniences of a city home. Moreover, the location is ideal, nestled among trees and across from a pasture of rollicking horses who seem to enjoy providing live entertainment as one sips their favorite beverage on the splendid wrap around deck or cooks a favorite meal on the gas grill.
Inside this very clean, cozy and tastefully appointed cabin one finds a functional and well stocked kitchen, large dining table, a comfortable living area with a stone fireplace and flat screen television. The master bedroom is a good size with a closet and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom is large and has a washer and dryer. The loft is quaint with a futon bed and two bunk beds and a closet. The AC and heating were easy to use and efficient. In short, this cabin had everything we needed for our wonderful mini-vacation.
The location is also perfect for all that the Canaan Valley has to offer. The Black Bear property and grounds are well maintained providing the amenities described.
We were sent thorough and easy instructions for our pre-rrival, stay and departure. The owner/rental manager was extremely professional and accommodating, responding quickly to our emails and needs. Truly excellent service with a personal touch.
I would highly recommend this property for a couple or family looking for a rustic getaway with all the conveniences of a city home. In short, this is a wonderful, clean and very comfortable cabin in a terrific location. We can’t wait to return!"

"The accommodations were perfect for our large family. I can't think of a single issue to discuss and communications with Linda were spot on. My only issue is with the lack of night skiing on snowshoe main slopes."

Well appointed unit & fast booking. Add-on charges should be fully disclosed in listing
"We visited in the summer. This unit is on the middle floor of a 3 story building which is the same level as the parking lot, so no stairs to get to the door. The unit was very clean and well maintained and the furnishings and beds were very comfortable. The western views were lovely for sunset. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need in terms of nice quality pans, dishes, utensils, mixer, etc. Bring all your own seasonings - there was salt and pepper. While the listing states there is WiFi, the Summit unsecured WiFi was extremely frustrating. It forces you to log back in about every 15 minutes and the signal is very weak. So be aware of that if you were thinking of streaming movies or doing some work; it's really not possible. We did appreciate the many movies and games the owners provided. Be aware that to book this property, you go through a management company. They add a $75 booking fee, a $7.50 processing charge, and an $85 cleaning fee. While a cleaning fee is pretty standard, that's a lot of upcharges for a weekend stay; none of which were disclosed in the rates on the VRBO listing. That being said, they did give us a special summer rate of one night free with 2 nights paid. The free night nearly covered the add-ons so we paid roughly the amount the unit was advertised for. The booking was very easy, even last minute."
