  • Great Getaway!

"My husband and I stayed three nights. The cabin was clean and well-maintained. The owners provided detailed information about the cabin and surrounding area; it was very helpful! We rode our bikes on the Western MD Rail Trail on the way to the cabin. We entered the trail in Hancock, MD, which is about 35 miles north of the cabin. From there headed west is a beautiful, flat, paved ride that was breathtaking with the fall foliage about at its peak! We ventured over to Cacapon State Park a couple of times. There are well-marked hiking trails for every skill level there. We also drove to the top of the mountain in the park, where there is a beautiful overlook. From there you can view parts of MD, PA, VA, and of course WV. We had a great romantic dinner at Panorama at the Peak in Berkeley Springs and enjoyed looking around in the little shops there (25 or so miles from the cabin). At the owners' suggestion, we also tried Main St. Grill in Slanesville. The food was excellent and inexpensive. We took some beautiful photos on this trip. Next time we plan to rent a canoe, and my husband would like to try out the clay shooting range at Cacapon."

  • Great place to get away from it all

"The property is clean and spacious. It has a nice, roomy kitchen, It is only five minutes off of Rt 50-the main thoroughfare through this part of West Va. It is near outdoor fun on the cacapon river and the south branch potomac river. While only five minutes away-from the highway it seems worlds away perched high on top of an isolated mountain ridge with a private lane in a gated community. It was great to walk on the lightly travelled access roads nearby and see 35 deer in one evening. No Wi-fi or TV-but only a few minutes from the library Wi-FI is in town. The owner is very accomodating. Nice little restaurant for breakfast-Belle Mountain on 50 five minutes away. Enjoyed our stay."

  • Excellent experience!

"My husband and I wanted a romantic getaway to celebrate his retirement and we found the perfect location! This farmhouse has been remodeled with every modern convenience, yet done in such a way as to not detract from the beauty of its historic personality. Beautifully decorated and immaculately clean, we were drawn into the family legacy through the written accounts of generations past who lived here. We had a wonderful time relaxing, reading in the hammock or on the porch, watching the birds at the feeder (LOVED the goldfinch!), going into Berkeley Springs for meals and sightseeing (such a great connection with George Washington!), driving to Paw Paw for a scenic ride then learning about the amazing tunnel dug for the C&O Canal. This was a great fit for our love of history and desire for a relaxing getaway. Sally was helpful and attentive in making our stay perfect. Beautiful scenery, wildlife, peaceful and secluded, yet so close to town. Love it!!!"

  • Perfect weekend getaway

"We just got married but didn't have time for a long honeymoon. Because it was Labor Day weekend, we wanted to avoid the crowds (and heat) of the beach. The condo had everything we could have possibly needed. The unit was beautifully decorated and very clean. We had lots to do; restaurants, zip-lining, hiking and swimming. We will definitely be back, but this time it will be to ski!"
