  • Great getawway for our family.

"The first thing my husband said was "I want a cabin in the woods now!" My family had a wonderful time at this rental. We made use of the kayak and the tubes, we even brought one of our kayaks so that we both could go together. My mother and daughters loved floating in the creek on the tubes, they didn't want to get out. We found a lot of cute shops in town and brought home a few trinkets. Everyone we met was very friendly. We had no issues with the AC being too loud like previous reviews had stated, and the washing machine worked just fine. It was in the mid eighties when we were there and the cabin was not too hot, in fact, most nights I was wrapped in a blanket reading a book in the main space. My family loved this cabin and my husband and I have actually discussed coming back again soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

  • Great owners, lovely setting, needs a few updates.

"This is a lovely property, nicely decorated and stocked, with great views. The owners are exceptionally sweet to work with, and the quickly resolved a scheduling issue and issued a prompt refund for the night in question. I do need to share that this cabin is not quite as remote as one might think, which may be a plus or minus for others. There is a road directly in front of the cabin, with moderate traffic. In addition, the street light that comes on at night for safety shines directly into the master bedroom, so some blackout curtains or shades are badly needed here, as well as curtains or shades on the glass fronted door that faces the road and light. Other than the these two issues (the curtains are fixable, the road is not going anywhere!!) I would certainly recommend this property, and the location puts it in easy reach of many local attractions."

  • Family of 6

"I took our family here as a last minute get away during Easter break. The house photos do not do the property justice. What a beautiful piece of land. Our kids ( ages 12,13 and 16) especially enjoyed being at the river . I recommend boots in the rainy season. The house was very clean and has a well equipped kitchen. This is a great place to go to unwind, watch the deer run, and have some downtime. The owner was great and very attentive to our needs and questions. We hope to go back over the summer."

  • Cute, cozy, private

"We arrived at night with quite a bit of snow on the access road. An AWD vehicle to reach the house would be strongly recommended, as mentioned by others. The setting is beautiful and private with a few other homes in the area - very quiet and secluded feeling overall. Inside, the cabin felt a bit smaller than expected, but clean and quite cozy, accommodating our small family and basset hound well. The owners have provided everything needed for a comfortable stay. They are very responsive to any issues and are in touch as necessary. Travel time to parking at Snowshoe was about 20+ minutes, depending on weather conditions and traffic, with several retailers (ski rentals, fuel, groceries) available on the way up. Overall we were pleased with our experience and would recommend this property to future visitors."
