  • wonderful place!

"This rustic cabin has fantastic decks with rockers and swings for 10 people. The bedrooms were clean and comfortable and there were lots of games for kids. It was incredibly quiet surroundings and fun for the whole family. We had three generations and all enjoyed it!"

  • Really Great Mountain Lodge Unit!

"We recently stayed in this unit for 9 nights and it was a wonderful experience! I would not hesitate to stay there again. The condo was very clean with daily service and had tons of plates and silverware. Lots of stove items as well, but if you want to make something specific, I recommend bringing the tools along just in case :) We invited my in-laws over for one of the weekends we were there, and the unit had more than enough room for the six of us and the 9 days-worth of food we brought with us. The rooms somehow managed to be spacious and have an abundance of storage, which was honestly my favorite part about this unit. One of the rooms is clearly a master bedroom, with a private full bath, while the other room is a bit smaller with a full bath attached to the hallway. Location-wise, the condo itself is a little farther away from the ski-in/ski-out exit than other ML units, but that just meant that we didn't have to hear the CLUNK CLUNK from all the ski boots walking past our door, which was a big annoyance for us when we stayed in other units in ML. The unit is also on the first floor, and was close to one of the parking lot doors, making it really handy to get in and out for dinner etc. Mountain Lodge itself is right at the Ballhooter lift, making it a GREAT place to start your Snowshoe skiing. The Village isn't too far away, and walking to the Village's shuttle stop (which gives you access to all of Snowshoe's locations) is easily do-able in ski boots. The only negatives I can even think of were that one of the bedrooms shares a wall with the hallway and that can get a bit noisy if you want to sleep in, but as long as you keep your sleep schedule aligned with the quiet hours, that shouldn't be a problem. We didn't have any problems with people disrespecting the quiet hours :)"

  • A great place to vacation

"My wife and I spent 5 days here for a "get away" vacation. Looking for some peace and quiet we intentionally came during the non ski season. The condo was well appointed with everything needed for a stress free vacation. A major plus was the comfortable furniture. We have stayed in some condos where the furniture was sagging or hard as stone. Not here!Very comfortable to sit and read, watch TV, or just relax. The hills of WV are beautiful and we took tons of pictures during our short driving excursions each day. We visited Blackwater Falls, Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks, Snowshoe Village, and the antique shops in Thomas. We recommend this location to everyone."

West Virginia Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to West Virginia Cabins

West Virginia has four distinct seasons and residents often boast that each season is more beautiful than the last. The valleys and low-lying areas tend to have a milder climate with cool winters and pleasant summers. The central parts of the state and more mountainous regions are generally more temperate.
