  • Awesome place to stay for a crowd!

"I have stayed so many places at Snowshoe with my 3 kids and this so fat is the best! But this time I had 4 kids + 2 adults and it was perfect. The place has been nicely upgraded (better than I have experienced in Alleghany, Rimfire and Powder Monkey by far)! We had plenty of room for the 4 teens and the living area was perfect for a crowd with two couches and a loveseat. Dining was easy between the large table and bar, and the kitchen was fully stocked. I cooked for 6 several times and wanted for nothing. Walking up to the Village was very close and easy in street shoes. Kids could safely go alone. The stairs were a bit challenging in ski boots but a shuttle came by very often so we hopped on that as needed. For the price, you won't find a more spacious upgraded place at Snowshoe. The owner was soooo nice throughout the entire process and we were so thankful for the flexible late checkout on the last day to fit in a hearty Junction breakfast and a few more runs. Look for us again, for sure!!!!"

  • Great ski getaway

"We had a wonderful time sharing Logger's Run 7 with two other families for our first trip to Snowshoe. The kids loved the bunk rooms, and the adults were comfortable on the 3rd floor. Kitchen is well-equipped with pots and pans and cooking tools. I think our favorite item in the house was the book with the history of Snowshoe--we loved learning some of the interesting details!"

  • Spring skiing in Snowshoe

"We had an absolute blast. The condo we stayed in was great. Very clean, had wifi, balcony, fully-stocked kitchen and a nice view. The Mountain Lodge building is a bit dated and could use some renovating but we were really impressed with our actual condo unit. This town is great, we will be back and for longer next time."

  • Great getawway for our family.

"The first thing my husband said was "I want a cabin in the woods now!" My family had a wonderful time at this rental. We made use of the kayak and the tubes, we even brought one of our kayaks so that we both could go together. My mother and daughters loved floating in the creek on the tubes, they didn't want to get out. We found a lot of cute shops in town and brought home a few trinkets. Everyone we met was very friendly. We had no issues with the AC being too loud like previous reviews had stated, and the washing machine worked just fine. It was in the mid eighties when we were there and the cabin was not too hot, in fact, most nights I was wrapped in a blanket reading a book in the main space. My family loved this cabin and my husband and I have actually discussed coming back again soon! Thank you for a wonderful stay!"

West Virginia Travel Tips

Seasons to Travel to West Virginia Cabins

West Virginia has four distinct seasons and residents often boast that each season is more beautiful than the last. The valleys and low-lying areas tend to have a milder climate with cool winters and pleasant summers. The central parts of the state and more mountainous regions are generally more temperate. The winter months are colder with heavier snowfalls. The summer months are pleasantly warm without being too hot. If you want to spend your time in the outdoors then summer and autumn are the best seasons to visit. The longer days and warmer weather provide ideal opportunities to enjoy your favorite sports. In general, the most popular time of year for visitors is during the months of July and August. If it is snow that you are looking for then you may need to wait until December and after the first snowfalls have cast their white blanket on Canaan Valley vacation rentals.
