  • Terrific Family Getaway

"This cabin is exactly as described! It's well located, cozy, clean and comfortable. The property manager sent us thorough and easy instructions for our pre-arrival, stay and departure. The kitchen was very functional and well stocked with everything we needed. The fireplace was great and the upstairs bedroom/loft was perfect for our boys (equipped with tv, dvd and gaming system). The cabin was very clean when we arrived and had plenty of space for 4 people + our dog (and dog crate). The Black Bear property and grounds are well maintained and an easy 10 minute drive to the Timberline ski area. The rental manager was also extremely accommodating and responsive to our emails and needs. I would highly recommend this property for a couple or family looking for a getaway with more space and amenities than a typical hotel."

  • Fun Family Weekend!

"What a great condo! We prefer to ski at Silvercreek over Snowshoe because of our young children and find this rental to be the perfect location. It is easy to hop on the shuttle or walk to the ski/tubing area. The owner is easy to deal with and available to address any questions or concerns. The condo is very comfortable and was a great place to spend a family ski weekend."

  • amazing cabin!

"This cabin exceeded our expectations! Dan went the extra mile, literally, to cheauffer us up and down the mountain on the snowy roads. We enjoyed the hot tub, well stocked kitchen and fireplace. The cabin was spotless and well organized. We hope to be back!"

  • Great ski in/out location - comfortable condo

"For winter skiing and snowboarding, or summer mountain activities, this location is great. You walk out of one of the lodge doors facing the mountain, and you are at the top of several ski runs. The Ballhooter lift takes you back up the mountain to this same spot. The condo itself is very comfortable for a couple or a family with young children. The bedroom sleeps two, and the fold-out sofa in the living room would be good for young children. The unit was easily warm enough in the winter. We actually cracked the living room window a few times to cool off the place. The heated hallways in the building can heat up the unit above the temperature you set for the unit's thermostats. The window in the bedroom opens to the common hallway, not outside. This unit seemed to be in a quiet area of the lodge. In fact, the entire lodge seemed to respect quiet hours. So hallway noise was not a problem during our stay. The kitchen is stocked with all the things you would need. I suggest bringing plastic wrap, aluminum foil, and tupperware if you plan to do a lot of cooking while you're there. Also, we brought groceries with us. There aren't good options for grocery shopping on the mountain, and they are probably very expensive compared to a regular supermarket. Some of the paper products you'll need (paper towels, tissues, bathroom paper) are supplied and are restocked. They provide detergent for the dishwasher, but it would have been nice to have some regular dish soap to wash some things by hand, like pots and pans, or to wash a few items in between running the dishwasher. We brought some laundry soap in case we wanted to wash some clothes while there, but there was no washer/dryer in the unit. Maybe they had coin machines in the building somewhere, but we didn't see them. The lodge itself has an arcade area, play area for small kids, some exercise equipment, and a large lobby with a big wood burning fireplace. Overall this was a great find for ski in/ski out, and it was a very good value."
