  • Stay at rental unit 178704

"It's a great place to stay. Lots of room and very clean. Loved the washer and dryer. We had no issues with this condo everything worked. There are ceiling fans and an air conditioner. We didn't use the air but the fans were needed. Everything that it showed in the listing was there. There were no surprises with the appearance of the condo. The kitchen is well equipped. There was a Belgium waffle maker, blender, griddle and lots of pots and pans and lots more. Everything we needed to make our meals. It's close to everything and the private parking is great. I would recommend this rental property to anyone. Everything went smoothly. The owner is very friendly and helpful. He sends maps and information about area and the unit in his e-mail to you. This is the second time we've rented this unit. This time for a week. We will be renting this unit again."

  • Great place!

"My family and I had a great time here. The condo is well maintained with lots of charm and an awesome kitchen. The welcome basket was a friendly touch, too! And you can't beat the location to the slopes! Great for charging out for first tracks, for the quick run over to the double diamonds, and for the occasional afternoon break! Would have given full 5 stars but the nighttime snow blowing was a bit loud at times which is but a very small price to pay! Overall it was great and we look forward to comoing here again soon!"

  • Relaxing cabin in near a lovely town

"We stayed at this cabin for 2 nights as the first stop on our way to Myrtle Beach. It was a great property with plenty of room for two people (we only went upstairs once to check it out). The whole cabin was very clean, unlock other properties that we have stayed at in the past. The hot tub on the back porch was great and was very enjoyable during the evenings. There are houses nearby but most of them did not seem to be occupied and none of them are so close that it would feel intrusive. The nearby town of Davis had some cool little restaurants and shops. My personal favorite restaurant was called Sarantini's which is an Italian/pizza joint in an old steamship office. Unfortunately it rained on and off so we did not get a chance to experience it all, but the surrounding area has countless hiking/biking trails and landmarks including Blackwater falls state park and Canaan valley resort. After leaving the property we headed east and some of the most amazing views as we traveled through West Virginia. If you're looking to visit the area for a couple nights I don't think you can go wrong by staying here."

  • Awesome cabin in the mountains!

"We had an awesome time staying in "A Mountain Retreat" for my wife's birthday ski trip! We came with 6 adults and absolutely loved the cabin! Very clean and laid out nicely. Each couple had their own bedroom and bathroom. You can tell some pride goes into keeping this place clean and neat and it had great amenities. The hot tub was in great condition just out the downstairs doorway. We used the kitchen to cook all of our dinners and the Weber grill to use on the deck was also a plus! Hitting the slopes all day, sitting in the hot tub with a cold drink, and then relaxing inside by the gas fireplace was pretty much our daily routine! It is about a 20 minute drive from the main parking lot at Snowshoe Mountain, but we didn't mind that at all, we liked being off the mountain and kind of secluded in the woods. They aren't joking when they say you need either 4WD or snow chains, don't try it with a little 2WD car. Wifi worked fine, but there is no cell reception unless you have AT&T, I think it was the only service that worked there. Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Snowshoe!"
