  • Everything it was described to be and so much more!

"My husband and I were more than delighted with this rental. My initial concerns were "are those reviews real or made up?, will it even be there at all or did we get scammed?, will it really be on the river, truly a waterfront view?" It was as described and the view evolves daily with the water flow levels. Watching my husband and dog splashing in the river while I relaxed in the wall-to-wall windowed sunroom with the music in the idea of a perfect vacation. The house was adorable and homey, very pleasing in every way. The owner has another home on the property and was invisible unless we needed something, then was gracious and kind in his concern for our comfort. This house is 1/2 mile from the dam, and my husband found that area to be a great place to catch his first (36") Musky while I relaxed at a picnic table nearby. The entire area around the house was sprayed with a pet-friendly, non toxic spray so we were not bothered by mosquitos. There is a great firepit to use and a huge pile of wood stacked and ready for you. The neighbors were friendly, two of them offering to take us to the secret fishing spot with their golf carts. The DirecTV channels were the same as we have at home in Missouri, so we had no problem finding great stations. The leather couch unit in the living room has two recliners...heaven, and the couch and loveseat in the sunroom invited me to plop down and not want to get up. The refrigerator was the biggest we had ever used and very convenient. The showerhead shoots out a great burst of water for a great showering experience. The only thing missing in my eyes was the bottle of champagne and strawberries!!! Kidding...the store is just 20 minutes away!!! I can't say enough about this property, the price, the house itself, the owner's courtesy and helpfulness, and the entire visit. Suggestion: Book more days than you initially think you will want, because you will fall in love with it as we did. We look forward to stopping back again...experiencing other seasons there. Robert: Feel free to give out my work phone number as a reference if any other prospective renters are skeptical as I was."

  • Nice place, accurate description

"We just returned from a stay at this cabin. It was easy to find, the owner gave great directions. This is one of 6 houses that share the beach, docks and parking lot. We happened to be the only ones there besides the owners, so it was very private and relaxing. I would think it would be far more active with the other units rented and sharing the shoreline. We enjoyed using both the row and paddle boats. Unfortunately it rained so we didn't get to use the fire pit or pontoon. Grills were provided for each unit, which was great. It did have window air units which were put to use during the stormy 90 degree stay. The lake was very shallow along the shore, you could walk 30+ feet out and only be in a 2-3 ft of water. if you took a boat out you had better luck catching fish. Even so my kids caught fish worth keeping off the dock. The unit was clean upon arrival outside of the resident spider webs, but it is a lake so there will be spiders. I didn't realize what was expected of us to clean before leaving until after we arrived. This may be standard for lake rentals, this was only the 2nd place we've stayed at in WI. Not too bad of a list but for a 3 day stay we spent a good hour to two cleaning and vacuuming. We also found a dirty peanut butter knife in the silverware drawer, which was a concern because we do have a severe nut allergy. It was an easy fix, but not something everyone is sensitive to, unless you live with allergies. Overall the owners were very kind and generous. We had a nice time on the lake and would recommend it to anyone who isn't seeking a private rental but is ok with a multi unit. Or for a large group who doesn't want to be in close quarters but could rent several units. It has a sandy beach so that makes it a great location for children, (who can take a shower as it doesn't have a bathtub). It is a large lake that offers plenty of boating and fishing fun."

  • Apres Ski

"Carol and Rick, What a great place to land after skiing. A beautiful warm log chalet in a wintry setting. What more could one want? Thanks very much. Denny"

  • Perfect for the Whole Family!

"Thank you Gerry & Joanne for a wonderfully relaxing week at your lovely cottage! It had everything our grown children and two young grandsons needed for a perfect vacation. We truly appreciate the cleanliness of the entire cottage, the well-stocked kitchen and the availability of the washer and dryer. We canoed and cruised around Pine Lake in the paddle boat and there was still plenty of room to dock our own boat. Our three year old grandson had a great first fishing experience right off the end of your dock. Because your cottage has such spacious living and dining areas, we were able to have extended family from across the lake over for a cook-out one evening without feeling crowded. The child-friendly shoreline with shallow, sand bottom was a great play area for both our grandsons. It was nice knowing you were only minutes away but, because you have everything so well taken care of, we didn't need a thing. Before the week was over, our kids were talking about which week to book in 2014. Hope to see you again next summer!"
